MEMPHIS TN - 2 PIT BULLS ATTACKED A MAN SENDING HIM TO THE HOSPITAL WITH BITES TO HIS ARMS AND BACK

(WMC) -
Memphis police are investigating a pit bull attack in Whitehaven.
A man in the 2000 block of Finley Road was attacked by two pit bulls just before 8 a.m.
A neighbor, Kimberly Wooten, said she ran out and hit the dogs with a broom to get them off the man.
Wooten said she is a dog lover and has two of her own, Cain and Abel. She said she didn’t hesitate to help the man getting attacked by TWO PIT BULLS.
"I came and got my broom and swatted at the little tan one and they kind of just ran off," Wooten said.
Wooten said the dogs came from a neighbor’s yard and left the man in his late 50s bleeding with injuries to his butt and arms. He was taken to Methodist South Hospital in non-critical condition.
"I saw him, so I had to help him. I could not have him out there to fend for himself," Wooten added.
The attack did not come as a surprise to others who live in the neighborhood.
"This area is real bad for dogs getting loose, pit bulls especially," neighbor Antonio Jones said.
"Now I'm going to have to be a little bit more cautious and careful and make sure it does not happen to me," Wooten said.
WMC Action News 5 reached out to Animal Services. It's not known if the dogs will be taken from the home.
