A city woman was hospitalized after being attacked by a PIT BULL on Saturday, according to police.
The 51-year-old victim suffered multiple injuries, including a possible broken arm, after being bitten outside her home on the 400 block of Leslie Street, Newark Public Safety Director Anthony Ambrose said in a statement.
The dog, owned by a neighbor, was taken in by the Humane Society while police continue to investigate. The owner had all required licenses and medical records for the animal, and it is unclear whether any charges will be filed, according to Ambrose.
The victim was taken to University Hospital for treatment.
