Child killed by dog: “I heard screams and moans,” said one
neighbor – Europe1
A child has died of his wounds Friday after being bitten by a young american staffordshire
terrier in Epfig in Bas-Rhin. The dog, who belong to the family and was attached, according
to the first elements of the investigation, tackled the little boy who did not survive. “I heard
screams and moans, I am appalled by what happened,” reflects, in shock, a neighbor of the
bereaved family in Epfig in Bas-Rhin.
The dog euthanized. Contacted yesterday by Le Parisien, the grandfather of the victim
felt “horrible” what happened. At the time of the tragedy, the dog was tied to the
grandparents of the owner. The master, cousin of the mother of the child, regularly
confided to his grandmother when he was away for work. The local mayor, Jean-Claude
Mandry took last night an order to euthanize the animal causing the death of the little boy.
“An order for euthanasia was taken within 48 hour, under Council of the gendarmerie,
the SPA, after the dog was examined,” said he said on France Info, adding that “the
animal had never been a problem. “
