PAGE COUNTY VA - UPDATE ON DYLAN MOULDER'S RECOVERY - THE 5-YEAR-OLD BOY WAS MAULED IN THE FACE BY A NEIGHBOR'S PIT BULL/ROTTWEILER MIX LAST WEEK

(WHSV) -- We bring you another piece of Dylan Moulder's story, the 5-year-old boy mauled by a dog last week.

Slowly but surely he is recovering. Once an active kid like any other, now he's having to take time off to recover.  He also has to take 10 medications every day.

Last Friday, a chained PIT BULL/ROTTWEILER MIX  owned by a neighbor attacked Dylan when he was on the dog owner's land. The dog owner says the dog was provoked.

Afterwards, Dylan was transported by helicopter to UVa Medical Center where three plastic surgeons worked to save his face.
Dylan's mother, Angela Jarman, said: "It is hard. Dylan has always been, you know, he is like a ray of sunshine. He is my boy, he is a mama's boy and it is hard to see him like that because he doesn't understand."
Earlier today, WHSV approached the house of the dog's owner for comment, but nobody answered the door.
Angela Jarman claims she was told by the Page County Health Dept. that the final decision on whether the dog would be returned to the owner or not --will be made Monday.

I cannot imagine what a 5 year old could do to a Pit/Rottie mix (what idiot decided to create this monster?) that would make this kind of attack justified. This was not a self-defense dog bite. This was a mauling. The dog nearly removed this small child's face. It needs to be put down before it kills someone.
