York County Animal Control euthanized 13 pit bulls after county leaders say they were used for dog fighting.
York County deputies were searching a week ago for a burglary suspect when they found the dogs outside a house on Prairie Hill Road.
Eleven pit bulls were on chains tied to the ground by car axles. Eight of them either had severe scars or open wounds consistent with dog fighting, authorities say.
The County reports the pit bulls had to be euthanized because they were too aggressive to be rehabilitated.
Deputies said Frankie Lee Starnes, Jr., will face 39 charges related to animal cruelty and dog fighting. He hasn't been booked into jail yet.

Someone with more functioning brain cells than your average Animal Control Director made that decision.

Good for them.

Good. Wish this was done with EVERY pit from a dogfighting bust.
