A woman was hospitalized after a dog attacked her and her own dog while she was jogging Wednesday in Ambridge.
Police said Shannon Garveys was attacked by a dog while she was jogging on 14th Street in her Ambridge neighborhood with her dog, Sport.
“He jumped me (and) bit into my shoulder. I fell to the ground. He pulled me into the mulch,” she said.
Garveys spent Wednesday night in surgery. She said the dog bit down to her shoulder bone, tearing tendons and muscles.
“Thank God I carry a weapon. I had a knife, and I just started stabbing him,” she said.
Garveys said she and her dog were both attacked, and the owner saw the attack and never helped.
“She looked at me and said,"You can't do anything to me.  You can sue.  I have no money,'"
Ambridge police said they plan to charge the dog’s owner, whom they know from an earlier incident.
Police said the same dog attacked a man last year, and its owner never tried to stop it.  Authorities said the victim had to get on top of a car to get away from the dog.

Sounds like a pit bull to me, complete with an irresponsible owner.

When are we going to stop protecting the freaks, and start protecting the public?

Good to hear that criminal was arrested. We need to change the laws so they all know attacks like these will land their asses in jail.

It's also good to hear that the jogger carried a knife and stabbed the shit bull before it could kill her or her dog. People are getting smart to the pit bull problem, at least some of them.
