CHARLOTTE NC - A FAMILY'S AMERICAN BULLDOG ATTACKED ITS 2-YEAR-OLD GIRL
Animal Control officers in Charlotte have seized a dog that attacked and severely injured a 2-year-old girl early Tuesday morning.
Police said they were called to an apartment on Swans Run Road in south Charlotte just before 7 a.m., and found the little girl with severe injuries.
The girl’s mother told police that the 8-year-old AMERICAN BULLDOG is a family pet, and it attacked the girl without being provoked. Officers took the dog to the Animal Control facility where they are holding it until the dog’s owner returns from out of town.
A spokeswoman said they are not sure if the dog is up-to-date on its rabies shots, and have not decided if it will be euthanized.
A woman who answered the door at the apartment several hours after the attack said the girl is doing well, but did not comment further.
