DAVENPORT IA - A PIT BULL CHARGED FROM THE FRONT DOOR OF A HOME AND ATTACKED AN OFFICER WHO HAD BEEN CALLED TO A DISTURBANCE - HE WAS FORCED TO SHOOT IT!


Davenport police said an officer shot and killed a dog that attacked him during a disturbance call.
The Quad-City Times reported that Officer Troy Simon was among those dealing with a disturbance involving two adults and a juvenile Friday morning when a  PIT BULL  charged from the home’s front door and attacked him.
Police said Simon fired his gun to stop the attack, and the dog died at the scene.
Simon, a 19-year veteran of the force, was taken to a hospital to be treated for bites. He received some stitches and was released.
The two men and juvenile involved in the disturbance were all arrested.
