AURORA - A Chihuahua died Wednesday after it was attacked by two other dogs while being walked by its owner.
The city of Aurora says the attack happened around 10 a.m. near Sunrise Park which is just behind Sunrise Elementary School off of South Genoa Way.
Investigators believe the two dogs responsible for the attack were running loose. They have been impounded.
Their owners are expected to be issued summonses as the investigation continues. The dogs will remain in custody of Aurora Animal Services pending a disposition hearing in about 10 days.
Investigators say the dogs fit the description of PIT-BULL-TYPE BREEDS WHICH ARE RESTRICTED IN AURORA.
