A loose dog bit a Lorain woman who was walking down Oberlin Avenue on Aug. 3, according to a Lorain police report.
Police responded to the 400 block of Oberlin at 6:23 p.m. to meet with the 31-year-old female victim and her 31-year-old husband. The victim told police she and her husband were walking on the sidewalk when a pitbull ran toward them, jumped up and bit her on the right arm.
According to the report, the victim’s husband hit the dog on the head with a pop can and it let go.
The owner explained her PIT BULL/BOXER MIX was chained up but broke free. The report indicated the dog didn’t have a license or shots.
The owner was issued a summons to appear in Lorain Municipal Court for registration of dogs and confinement of dogs.
