UPDATE 8/12/16: JUDY'S BROTHER AND SISTERS CAME TO BE WITH HER....LOOK AT THAT SMILE!!!!
Judy was a cancer survivor, a mother, grandmother, homemaker and caretaker for her autistic child, On Tuesday June 21, 2016, she was attacked and mauled by a neighbor's pit bull named Gator.
A BCSO deputy arrived at 8:56 a.m. to 7207 Hardwood Court to find the 58-year-old being attacked by a tan PIT BULL. The dog retreated and jumped over the fence back into his yard.
The deputy noticed the body of a small dog near the attack scene, dead from an apparent attack.
Two other BCSO deputies arrived to assist the victim and the dog jumped the fence and aggressively advanced upon them. The deputies fired upon the dog to protect themselves and the victim. The dog died at the scene.
EMS transported Judy to a local hospital with serious injuries to her head, neck, and arm.In the past 48 days she has undergone many surgeries and remained in ICU. The family tells that she still goes in and out of consciousness and is unable to speak due to a tracheal tube. The medical bills have gone over $1 million. According to the family, they still have no idea how they are going to cover the costs.
So much pain and suffering and so many lives turned upside down simply because a neighbor chose to harbor an animal that can kill humans and other pets.
