PANAMA CITY, BAY COUNTY FL - PIT BULL VICTIM JUDY GENEVA WAS MOVED TO HEALTH SOUTH REHAB TODAY - ON JUNE 21 SHE SUFFERED SEVERE INJURIES TO HER SCALP, SKULL, NECK AND HER ARM AND HER SMALL PET WAS KILLED

UPDATE 8/12/16:  JUDY'S BROTHER AND SISTERS CAME TO BE WITH HER....LOOK AT THAT SMILE!!!!

Judy was a cancer survivor, a mother, grandmother, homemaker and caretaker for her autistic child, On Tuesday June 21, 2016, she was attacked and mauled by a neighbor's pit bull named Gator.
A BCSO deputy arrived at 8:56 a.m. to 7207 Hardwood Court to find the 58-year-old  being attacked by a tan PIT BULL. The dog retreated and jumped over the fence back into his yard.
The deputy noticed the body of a small dog near the attack scene, dead from an apparent attack.
Two other BCSO deputies arrived to assist the victim and the dog jumped the fence and aggressively advanced upon them. The deputies fired upon the dog to protect themselves and the victim. The dog died at the scene.
EMS transported Judy to a local hospital with serious injuries to her head, neck, and arm.
In the past 48 days she has undergone many surgeries and remained in ICU. The family tells that she still goes in and out of consciousness and is unable to speak due to a tracheal tube. The medical bills have gone over $1 million. According to the family, they still have no idea how they are going to cover the costs.

So much pain and suffering and so many lives turned upside down simply because a neighbor chose to harbor an animal that can kill humans and other pets.

"Mom, I miss you so much! Oh what I would do to go back and tell you how much I love you and how much you mean to me! šŸ’” it's crazy how everything can change so much in such a short period of time! I would do anything to bring things back the way they use to be! I am going crazy right now... I cry every single day. It breaks my heart having to go to the hospital everyday and walk down the ICU hallways to see you. & hurts more cause I can't talk to you! Please lord give me my mom back she did not deserve this! šŸ’”šŸ’”šŸ’”šŸ’” I just want to be happy again!  Lindsey"

How sad! Do we really need pit bulls in our neighborhoods? I don't think so, but apparently nutters do. Gator? REALLY? A pit bull named Gator did this? At least with gators you can avoid bodies of water. With pit bulls, they're everywhere.

Thanks for posting this. I've been wondering how this woman was doing. It's just heartbreaking. The argument pit advocates like to trot out, about how only x% of pits will ever seriously harm anyone, are just so empty and offensive when you look at poor Judy Geneva and think of her suffering and the helpless anguish of those who care for her.

Thanks for the update. Anyone wanting to own a pit should have to spend time with a victim before they're allowed to get one. So much suffering caused by the choice of a pet. My heart breaks for this family. The neighbor should have to sell everything they own to help pay the medical bills.
