FORT BARNWELL, CRAVEN COUNTY NC - A FAMILY PIT BULL ATTACKED A 1-YEAR-OLD GIRL CAUSING INJURIES TO HER FACE AND HEAD

FORT BARNWELL | A 1-year-old girl was badly injured when she was bitten on the head and shaken by the family’s dog on Thursday.
According to the Craven County Sheriff’s office, the child had been playing on the porch and the dog, a brown PIT BULL named Rambo, was tied up on the porch. For an unknown reason, the dog attacked the girl.
She suffered several cuts to her face and head and was taken to Carolina East Medical Center, then transferred to Vidant Medical Center.
Captain John Whitfield with the sheriff’s office did not say where the child’s guardian was at the time of the attack, but said no charges have been filed. He did not release the family’s name but said the incident happened at 365 Biddle Road in the Fort Barnwell area.
The call came in at 3:46 p.m. Thursday, he said. He did not release the family’s name.  The dog was taken to the Craven-Pamlico Animal Shelter where it has been quarantined. Trinity Smith, shelter director, said the dog has current rabies tags. She said the dog would be euthanized unless the family takes it back.

"Trinity Smith, shelter director, said the dog has current rabies tags. She said the dog would be euthanized unless the family takes it back."

WHY IS THIS EVEN AN OPTION?

"Captain John Whitfield with the sheriff’s office did not say where the child’s guardian was at the time of the attack, but said no charges have been filed."

THE GUARDIAN THOUGHT RAMBO WAS A NANNY DOG!
