HARTSELLE AL - AN OFFICER WAS MAKING A WELFARE CHECK AT A RESIDENCE WHEN HE WAS ATTACKED BY MULTIPLE DOGS - 3 DOGS BELIEVED TO BE PIT BULLS WERE SEIZED

Officer Sean Persall who is an eleven-year veteran of the Hartselle Police Department, was performing a welfare check at a residence on Railroad Street when he was attacked by MULTIPLE DOGS.
Police say that Officer Persall was able to fire a shot from his service weapon and the dogs retreated to a nearby camper on the property.
Officer Persall was transported to the Decatur Morgan Emergency Room and treated for multiple bite wounds.
THREE OF THE ANIMALS were seized by Morgan County Animal Control.
The incident remains under investigation.
