A woman had to be hospitalized Monday morning after she was attacked and mauled by a neighbor’s dog in the Oakland hills, authorities said.
The extent of the woman’s injuries was not available.
The dog’s owner told animal control officers she would bring the animal to the shelter later Monday  for rabies testing and to be euthanized. Authorities described the dog only as a male  PIT BULL  and didn’t elaborate on its breed.
The attack happened about 9:45 a.m. Monday in the 4800 block of Lowry Road in the East Oakland hills not far from the Chabot Golf Course.
The dog got out of its owner’s house through an open door and attacked the neighbor, officials said.
It was not immediately known if the neighbor was walking on the street or was at her residence.
It was also not known what stopped the dog’s attack.
Check back for updates.

No elaboration on 'breed' is necessary. All anyone needs to know is that it's a PIT BULL TYPE DOG. Good for Bay City authorities for knowing this.

It's hilarious how nutters try to convince us all that we cannot identify pit bulls, there's no such breed, only a DNA test can verify the breed, etc. However, every single unidentified attacking pit bull reveals its breed by launching an unprovoked attack, leaving the victims with wounds that resemble a shark attack, and putting victims in hospitals, on life flights, and in graves. No DNA test kit required!

The fighting breeds do have their very own style of attacking. I agree, no mention of specific breed is needed.
