NICHOLSON, JACKSON COUNTY GA - A PIT BULL JUMPED A CHAIN LINK FENCE AND ATTACKED A BASSET HOUND

DOG ATTACK: On Nov. 6, Deputy David Pinkston was dispatched to a home on Lake Yamacutah Road, Nicholson, where a pit bull had attacked the resident’s basset hound. The hound had several puncture wounds on its throat and neck. The owner said the pit bull had scaled a chain link fence to get at the hound. As the owner was taking the dog to a veterinarian, she asked the officer to shoot the bulldog. The officer explained he couldn’t because he had not observed it being vicious or attacking. The animal control unit was contacted.
