SILVER SPRING MD - A PIT BULL MIX JUMPED OVER A FENCE TO ATTACK A LABRADOR MIX

Dog attack: Kilkenny St., 3200 block, Silver Spring, Oct. 30. A PIT BULL MIX  jumped over a fence at its residence into a neighbor’s backyard. A woman was in the yard with her father and a Labrador mix when the neighbor’s dog attacked hers. The father was bitten while trying to break up the fight. The owner of the pit bull mix was not at home, but her father was, and he took the dog back to their property. The injured man was treated at a hospital for bite wounds to the hand, and his dog was treated for bite wounds at a veterinary hospital. An affidavit was given to the owner of the Labrador mix and the bite victim. If the affadavit is returned, the pit bull mix will be declared “potentially dangerous” and its owner will receive “dog at large,” “animal trespass” and “unwanted contact” citations, which carry $100, $100 and $500 fines, respectively. The pit bull mix was placed under a 10-day home quarantine.
