ATHENS GA - A NEIGHBOR'S ROTTWEILER ATTACKED A WOMAN IN HER BACKYARD WITH HER PET DOG

An Athens woman was attacked by a  ROTTWEILER  in her backyard Monday morning, according to an Athens-Clarke County police report.
The woman was with her dog when the Rottweiler from a nearby house tried to bite her pet. As she was trying to get her dog inside, she was bitten on her leg by the Rottweiler.
An officer went to the house where the Rottweiler lived and found the dog under the house on a leash attached to a large water container. A resident brought out the dog, which appeared aggressive, according to the report. A man came outside and said the dog was off the leash when it attacked the dog in the other yard.
The Rottweiler was turned over to animal control. The woman who was bitten was taken to Piedmont Athens Regional for medical care.
