HALL COUNTY GA - A 5-YEAR-OLD GIRL WAS MAULED BY 1 OR MORE OF THE FAMILY'S 3 PIT BULL-MIX BREED DOGS

Girl seriously injured in dog attack on Browns Bridge Road

A 5-year-old girl was rushed to the hospital Tuesday afternoon after she was bitten multiple times by the family’s dogs inside a home at the 4100 block of Brown Bridge Road.

Hall County Animal Control Director Mike Ledford said the girl was conscious and responsive when she was taken to Northeast Georgia Medical Center in Gainesville. She was set to be flown to Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta at Scottish Rite, according to Capt. Zachary Brackett, spokesman for Hall County Fire Services.

The Hall County Sheriff’s Office was also at the scene in response to a 911 emergency call around 2 p.m.  Ledford said three dogs — described as PIT BULL-MIX BREED — were taken away by Animal Control.

Investigators spent more than an hour looking and photographing areas outside the home’s chain-link fence.

The case remains under investigation by the Hall County Sheriff’s Office and Animal Control, according to sheriff’s spokesman Scott Ware. He said charges, if any, are pending further investigation.

Ware said sheriff’s deputies notified the Department of Family and Children Services of the incident.

I saw this on one of the side links. I cannot help but wonder if idiot parents that bring home these wonderful nanny dogs are doing it as a ploy to raise money? They all act shocked and surprised when the pit bulls do what they were bred for, and put one of their kids in a hospital. Yet these same nutter parents are all proud of their pit bulls, until the unthinkable happens. Then the fundraisers start.

Wake up nutter parents! You tell us to get educated, that your pit bulls have never hurt your children, yet time and time again, someone else's pit bull is hurting their child. You can't for one second imagine that this could happen to your child and PREVENT the deed?

It's so much better to prove the world wrong, and that your pit bull would never hurt your child. IS IT WORTH IT?

I feel horrible for the child, but I have no empathy for the parents. They did this. We need Breed Specific Legislation to prevent idiot parents from making this mistake. We do not need anymore evidence that pit bulls are dangerous.
