LAKEWOOD, MONMOUTH COUNTY NJ - 3 PIT BULLS WITH NO COLLARS ON CAME OUT OF NOWHERE AND BEGAN ATTACKING A 12-YEAR-OLD BOY PLAYING IN HIS NEIGHBORHOOD

VIDEO

A 12-year-old boy was treated at a hospital  after he was attacked by 3 PIT BULLS  while playing outside his home.  The attack happened on the afternoon of April 6 about 5pm.  The boy had stopped to rest when suddenly the 3 large pit bulls were there biting him.

He managed to run to his house stumbling and falling with the dogs nipping at his heels and had multiple bite marks and lacerations.

One pit was captured soon and put into a police car, while Lakewood AC and Monmouth County AC spent three hours capturing the other two.  A Lakewood Animal Control person was also bitten in the process.

The pit bulls had no collars on and no one seems to know at this time where they came from so the boy had to begin rabies treatment.

All pit bulls should be micro-chipped. Oh, but that's breed specific legislation, and nutters don't want to be "responsible."

It's so much better that we have loose mauling pit bulls with unidentifiable owners, so then we have no legal recourse.

I wonder when we're going to force nutters to be responsible for their nanny dog fails? Let me rephrase that. I wonder when we're going to force nutters to prevent their pit bulls from attacking in the first place, and holding them liable when their pit bulls attack in the second place?

Until our ordinances change, and animal control gets back to controlling animals, these sad state of affairs will continue. Pit bulls are animals, not little people in fur suits (I'm talking to you fur mommies). And those animals are dangerous, not friendly tutu wearing hero therapy dogs. Why don't we ever see stories of a pack of pit bulls being aggressively friendly like Golden Retrievers are? We always see news articles about pit bulls attacking as soon as they are on the prowl.

Like I was saying, this is never, ever going to end until we force nutters to accept breed specific legislation.

You want the breed? Own the deed!

Does anyone else feel like pit bulls are predator dogs? If they're hungry, they'll just hunt and stalk humans.

This new reality is terrifying.
