BESSEMER AL - A NEIGHBOR'S PIT "BROKE LOOSE FROM ITS CABLE" AND BEELINED ELRIDGE LITTLE WHILE HE WAS TALKING TO THE MEAT GRINDER"S OWNER WHEN MOWING HIS GRASS...THE OWNER BROKE A 2X4 ON HIS PIT AND IT WAS "STILL VICIOUS"

WBRC FOX6 News - Birmingham, AL BESSEMER, AL (WBRC) -
“I'm just in fear, you know, just in fear," Elridge Little said, his tears still fresh less than 24 hours after he says his neighbor's PIT BULL attacked him in his own yard.
He says Thursday afternoon he was cutting his grass when he stopped to talk to his neighbor.
In his periphery, he saw the dog acting aggressively.
“And the dog kept running and snatching with his cable.  And then, when it broke loose, I saw he was coming at me and he caught me,” Little recalled.
He says he tried to kick the dog off him, but the dog bit his leg and threw him to the ground near a tree.
“And that's when he started trying to really attack me and my neighbor, thank God he helped me.  He hit the dog with a 2 x4 and broke it and he was still vicious,” Little said. “And then I stepped on a nail and he told me go, go to the house and I tried to call but couldn't walk.”
“When the ambulance came, I started seeing the dogs coming in the house, I started having flashbacks,” he continued while fighting through tears.
Friday, his feet and arm are remained bandaged.
The dog had been taken away.
Authorities say he must remain quarantined until a vet determines if he has rabies. But Little is so afraid that he’ll return.
“I don't know how I'm going to be able to live here because he done sniffed my blood, he done tasted my blood,” he said through tears Friday. “It's a nightmare I don't ever want to experience anymore.”
We reached out to Little's neighbor to see if he does plan to keep the dog.
At the time this story was posted, he had not responded to our call.

Why are people allowed to keep animals that maul their neighbors? It's domestic terrorism and should be treated that way.

Yes, it is domestic terrorism. I have at least 3 or more very XXK "pit bulls??" next door to me. I stepped out of my back door many times today because I have many flowers/plants and I work in my yard. I let my guard down as I work and enjoy my hobby..and then suddenly those dogs will lunge, growl and bark so loud...they rattle the pens they are in. MY HEART ACTUALLY HURTS IN MY CHEST!!!!! I felt Mr. Little's pain and terror. Any animals that are as big as those dogs next door to me (small city lots) could come out of that pen if they set their minds to it. Elderly people are victimized in so many ways. They work so hard to pay for a home and make it a real home and to have idiots and their monster dogs terrorize us day and night..it is so wrong in so many ways. I just happen to pass my front window and looked out the other day and there was nutter next door walking the property line around the front yard with a large German Shepherd pulling at 2 long leashes around its neck and it stopped and crapped right next to my flower garden. All the pits penned up in the back were loudly barking at this "new pet". I never know what I'm going to see when I look out now. IT'S TERRORISM!!!
