FOLLANSBEE, BROOKE COUNTY WV - 2 DOGS ATTACKED AN 8-YEAR-OLD BOY WHO WAS RIDING A BIKE WITH HIS BROTHER

An 8-year-old boy is in the hospital after being attacked by TWO DOGS.  It happened in the Meadowbrook RV Park in Follansbee on Monday evening.
The victim and his brother were riding bikes when the dogs went after them. One boy was able to climb a tree and escape.
A witness heard the commotion and helped stop the attack on the other boy.
“You should know when you adopt a dog or purchase a dog, the breed, its characteristics, whether or not they should be around children, how they interact with other animals or human beings, and they should also know the vaccination laws and the registration laws,” Brooke County Sheriff Larry Palmer said.
According to Palmer, Corey and Brandon Clevenger will be charged with harboring a vicious animal.
They could not produce documentation about rabies shots, so the Brooke County Health Department ordered that the dogs be euthanized in order to test them.
The victim's family says the 8-year-old will require surgery.

SYDNEY AU - A PIT BULL "SOMEHOW" GOT LOOSE...RAN INTO A YARD AND KNOCKED A TODDLER DOWN...INJURED 2 WOMEN...THEN SAW ANOTHER DOG BEING WALKED BY ITS OWNER AND TRIED TO KILL IT!!!

In footage from the scene, one man is seen swinging a scooter up in the air before smashing it into the animal (pictured)

In the aftermath of a vicious dog attack, local residents used poles and a scooter to stop the animal from injuring another dog.
An escaped pit bull was on the loose on Old Kent Road in Greenacre in Sydney's south-west, when the canine caught a whiff of a spit roast and entered the front yard of a home where a birthday party was taking place.

The dog ran up to a two-year-old and knocked her down before a woman, who was trying to intervene, was bitten on the leg.  She suffered a non-serious bite wound to her ankle and was treated by paramedics at the scene.
Another woman was scratched by the dog during the incident.

The dog then ran on the road and started to attack another dog before two men used a pole and children's scooter to separate them.

The animal entered a premises where a birthday party was taking place in the front yard

Later, the video shows a man - alleged to be the violent dog's owner - taking his animal away.
Another man, believed to be the owner of the other dog, also appears in the footage collecting his pet.
A witness told Daily Mail Australia they saw a man drive to a nearby property with the dog who attacked the woman, before police made a visit to that home later.
A police spokesperson confirmed officers attended the incident around 2:15pm on Saturday afternoon.
She said the matter has been referred onto Bankstown Council.

EL PASO TEXAS - 4 FAMILY DOGS FATALLY MAULED JACOB BROOKS, 4, WHO HAD BEEN LEFT PLAYING ON A TRAMPOLINE IN THE YARD

The incident happened around 7:50pm Thursday at Brooks’ home. Officers responded to an unknown problem at the home and when they arrived they found Brooks’ lifeless body in the backyard.
The boy was inside an enclosed trampoline in the backyard, where the four family dogs were also at.  While he was playing the dogs apparently attacked him and mauled him to death.
The dogs were all taken into Animal Services custody. The boys mother was also taken to the hospital on a protective medical hold.
OFFICERS HAVE NOT IDENTIFIED THE BREED OF THE DOGS or said what may have prompted the attack.
We spoke to a neighbor who says he would always see the young boy playing outside. He says his family could hear screams during the dog attack and that it will be very traumatic for them.
“It will be [traumatic] especially when you see them playing outside almost every single day, how are you going to come back and [know you] wont be seeing the little boy ever again? It will be hard for everybody,” the neighbor said.
He also expressed concern for another neighbor he says jumped in to try and help.
“I think it’s going to be real hard for him to get over all that after what happened with the dog and everything, I think he saw his [the boy’s] face so I think it’s going to be real hard for him to get over it,” the neighbor said.
This is an on going investigation we’ll update you as more information becomes available.

COLONIAL HEIGHTS, PRINCE GEORGE COUNTY VA - A 6-MONTH-OLD PIT BULL MIX IN A TRAINING CLASS AT PETSMART BOLTED OUT OF THE RING AND THE MEAT GRINDER FOUND A BABY IN ITS MOTHER'S ARMS AND CHOMPED DOWN!!!

Police in Colonial Heights interviewed witnesses and reviewed store security video as part of their on-going investigation after a dog bit a child inside the PetSmart in the Southgate shopping center.
The little girl, believed to be about two years old, was taken to the hospital Wednesday for treatment. She was expected to be OK.
The child's mother had blood on her when she tracked down a police officer who was already inside the store after the dog bite.
The initial police investigation revealed the dog's owner brought his pet to PetSmart for a dog training class.
"The owner of a dog [A PIT BULL MIX], was there getting some training for his animal [in a training area set up inside the store]. The dog was initially in that ring with a single trainer," Colonial Heights Police Capt. William Anspach said.
It was during that training, witnesses said, a second PetSmart employee attempted to enter the training ring.
"When the employee opened the door, the dog bolted out of the ring, and began to run around the store," Anspach said. "[The dog] found this mother and jumped up... [the dog] latched on to this child's leg."
The child was left with bite marks. Fire and EMS responded and took the child to the hospital for treatment.
The six-month-old dog was up-to-date on its vaccinations and will be kept quarantined at its owner's home in Prince George County.
“We take any situation involving the health and safety of customers, associates and pets very seriously. We are deeply disturbed by this unfortunate situation, and our thoughts are with the child and her family," a PetSmart spokesperson said. "We immediately launched an investigation, including reviewing our policies and procedures. We will continue to do our best to support the family at this difficult time.”

ROME, ONEIDA COUNTY NY - A MOTHER TOOK HER 18-MONTH-OLD SON WITH HER TO A RESIDENCE TO CARE FOR A PIT BULL SHE WAS DOG SITTING...THE LAND SHARK BIT THE CHILD AND DRAGGED HIM ACROSS THE FLOOR

An adult  PIT BULL  has been put down after city officials said it bit an 18-month-old boy on Floyd Avenue Saturday morning.
The infant was treated and released from the hospital, officials said.
The pit bull’s owner was out of town and another person was dog-sitting, according to police officials. The dog-sitter arrived at the Floyd Avenue residence to let the dog out shortly before 10 a.m., and she brought along her 18-month-old son, officials said.
According to police, the son was crying and walking towards his mother when the dog bit the boy and dragged him across the floor. Rescue personnel and Animal Control arrived and the animal was seized.
Authorities said the boy suffered cuts to his face and an injury to his left thigh. He was treated at University Hospital in Syracuse, and medical officials said this morning he has since been discharged.
“We did remove the dog from the house,” explained Kimberly Vaughn, from city Animal Control.
It is county policy to confine dogs for 10 days after they have bit someone, Vaughn said, in case the animal has rabies. However, Vaughn said the pit bull’s owner requested he be put down.
“The dog has been euthanized, per the owner’s request,” Vaughn explained.
She said the owner was fined for having an unlicensed dog, and was ordered to pay overnight boarding fees while Animal Control held the dog.

HANOVER TOWNSHIP PA - KAYDENCE JAKUBOWSKI, 4, WAS MAULED BY AN AKITA AT A FRIEND'S HOUSE SUFFERING FACIAL AND NECK WOUNDS...AFTER BEING TREATED AND RELEASED FROM A LOCAL HOSPITAL, THE CHILD SUFFERED A STROKE AND IS NOW IN CHILDREN'S PHILADELPHIA

Kaydence Jakubowski is fighting for her life after the little girl was mauled by a dog Friday night at a cookout and swimming party in Hanover Twp.

The 4-year-old from Wilkes-Barre Twp. has a blood clot near her brainstem and a carotid artery aneurysm. Her right side is paralyzed and she may never be able to talk again after her vocal cord was pierced by the dog’s teeth, according to her parents.
“She was a perfect, healthy little girl. One freak accident and it changed her for the rest of her life,” the girl’s mother, Casey Iorio, 27, said Wednesday during a phone call from the girl’s bedside.
Meanwhile, the dog, an AKITA  — a breed described as “large, powerful and alert” by the American Kennel Club — is slated to be euthanized as a result of the unprovoked attack, officials said.
Kaydence, who has autism, is being treated at the Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia, where she is heavily sedated and remains in critical condition.
She was taken there after suffering a stroke just hours after her release from Geisinger Wyoming Valley Medical Center in Plains Twp., her mother said.
After arriving at Geisinger around 10:30 p.m. Friday with bloody facial and neck wounds, Kaydence was given stitches and a prescription for an antibiotic before being released around 3:30 a.m. Saturday, Iorio said.
“I asked them to keep her overnight. I asked them to do a CAT scan. They said it’s not necessary for a dog bite,” Iorio said.
Officials for Geisinger said they could not comment about the case due to patient privacy provisions in the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act, or HIPAA.
“Our thoughts are with Kaydence and her family. Unfortunately, due to HIPAA laws, we’re unable to comment at this time,” hospital spokeswoman Megan Sobieski said.
Kaydence is expected to be at CHOP — a specialized pediatric hospital in Philadelphia — for at least several months.
Iorio and Kaydence’s father, Matthew Jakubowski, cancelled their wedding set for September and they’ve stopped working.
Several family members and friends have organized fundraisers, including a GoFundMe account online, to help them.

              https://www.gofundme.com/benefits-for-kaydence-rose

Meanwhile, one of the dog’s owners, a close family friend who is Kaydence’s godfather, is having the dog euthanized rather than face an investigation under Pennsylvania’s dangerous dog law. Investigations can lead to charges or sanctions when dogs attack without provocation, the region’s dog warden James Spencer said.
“That’s the plan. He’s under quarantine right now,” Spencer said.
Iorio did not want to identify the owners of the dog, saying they are good friends who feel awful about what happened. She said the dog got loose from its cage and then she heard other children start to scream.
“By the time I got up, and got to Kaydence, which wasn’t far, the dog latched onto her,” Iorio said. “The blood started squirting everywhere from her neck.”
An ambulance took Kaydence to the Geisinger hospital in Plains Twp.
“They gave her stitches and sent her home without any testing,” Iorio said.
The next morning, after Kaydence awoke, she tried to get up and walk, but she couldn’t. They returned to Geisinger, sensing something was wrong. After initial evaluations, doctors were planning on sending the little girl to Geisinger’s children’s hospital in Danville, but further tests revealed her condition was more dire than initially thought, her mother said.
“They said, ‘We are sending her to CHOP in Philly. She had a stroke,’” Iorio said.
Kaydence was to be airlifted to CHOP, but bad weather forced emergency crews to drive her in an ambulance. The girl was initially on a ventilator, but she’s now breathing on her own, her mother said.
Kaydence’s story has been getting a lot of attention on social media and the family is getting offers of assistance from around the country.
“The help she is getting is outstanding. I didn’t expect it to be this big,” Iorio said.

An 11-year-old girl was badly injured after TWO PIT BULLS  attacked her July 21 east of Branson.
Amanda Prichard suffered severe lacerations and damage all over her body, including her head, according to her aunt, Lora Erickson.
The incident occurred when Prichard was walking to a friend’s house, which is where the dogs were, Erickson said.
“She is only 11 years old and has been a really brave little girl,” Erickson said. “She tried to fight off the dogs by poking at their eyes and even played dead to no avail, the attack continued for many minutes.”
A nearby neighbor heard the girl’s screams and came to help her.
“After 5 hours of surgery, they addressed over 45 wound repairs, but are hopeful, in time, that she will have a full recovery ... She is alive today because of (the neighbor) and the medical professionals taking care of her at a hospital in Springfield,” Erickson stated. “While she is healing physically, she will have emotional scars that will take time to heal.”
The two dogs were euthanized by Taney County Animal Control, according to Taney County Health Department Community Outreach Manager Lisa Marshall. Marshall said she did not know the age of the pit bulls.
“We sent their brain matter for rabies testing, and it came it came back negative,” Marshall said.
According to Marshall, there have been 14 pit bull dog bite quarantines in 2017 in Taney County.
Taney County Prosecuting Attorney Jeff Merrell stated via email the incident occurred at Sarah Lane on T Highway.
No charges have been filed because an investigation continues, Merrell stated.
Information on Prichard’s condition may be found at a Facebook site called “Healing for Amanda Prichard.”

I talked to my sister quite a while yesterday which was so nice. I am glad to know this little angel has been able to get some more rest and her sisters are feeding her and helping care for her. Amanda says everyone and the nurses has been so nice. I learned the ordeal with the dogs was quite long and it is a miracle she is still here! She is a spirited fighter for sure and doing well all things considered. She is still in the hospital and may be moved to an inpatient rehab facility in a day or two. Thank you for all the prayers and kindness.
