EL PASO TEXAS - 4 FAMILY DOGS FATALLY MAULED JACOB BROOKS, 4, WHO HAD BEEN LEFT PLAYING ON A TRAMPOLINE IN THE YARD

The incident happened around 7:50pm Thursday at Brooks’ home. Officers responded to an unknown problem at the home and when they arrived they found Brooks’ lifeless body in the backyard.
The boy was inside an enclosed trampoline in the backyard, where the four family dogs were also at.  While he was playing the dogs apparently attacked him and mauled him to death.
The dogs were all taken into Animal Services custody. The boys mother was also taken to the hospital on a protective medical hold.
OFFICERS HAVE NOT IDENTIFIED THE BREED OF THE DOGS or said what may have prompted the attack.
We spoke to a neighbor who says he would always see the young boy playing outside. He says his family could hear screams during the dog attack and that it will be very traumatic for them.
“It will be [traumatic] especially when you see them playing outside almost every single day, how are you going to come back and [know you] wont be seeing the little boy ever again? It will be hard for everybody,” the neighbor said.
He also expressed concern for another neighbor he says jumped in to try and help.
“I think it’s going to be real hard for him to get over all that after what happened with the dog and everything, I think he saw his [the boy’s] face so I think it’s going to be real hard for him to get over it,” the neighbor said.
This is an on going investigation we’ll update you as more information becomes available.

Breed, pit bulls. It's a no-brainer.

I'm typing this comment on July 28th, 2017, at 10:54 PM CDST.

I must be psychic. We shall see what the updates say. What kind of dog breed was it?

Drum roll please...

My heart is broken for this poor little child that was killed by a pack of pit bulls. Man's best friends turned once again into a parent's worst nightmare that they cannot wake up from.

Thank you rabid pit bull advocates! Your worthless pit bulls have dug another grave with your help.

In this story a neighbor says pit bulls and German Shepherds:

I don't understand why any parent would want to own a large dog, let alone multiple large dogs, when they have a small child.

There are so many documented cases where dogs in a multi-dog household choose to join in on the attack rather than try to defend the one being attacked.

There's not a single good reason to own multiple fighting breeds and multiple high prey drive breeds when you have a child in the home.

Breed choice matters. There are so many smaller and docile dog breeds out there where you do not have to worry about your dogs being able to kill your child in an instant.

Breed choice does matter. Most gsds, if raised with children, are fantastic pets for them. Many small breeds are snappy with children and easily injured by children. Having said that, four dogs of any breed is a pack; and pack mentality can take over. Besides, my guess is that these folks were letting dogs breed and keeping puppies from them. Obnoxious, untrained young dogs can be dangerous to a young child. What a wonderful, squeaky toy full of yummy treats to play tug of war with. Fresh meat. Totally ignorant parenting.

I'm the anon saying it was pit bulls. When authorities say it was GSD mixes, why can't they say what the other dog breed was? Considering this family had pit bulls, I'm sure the dogs were GSD pit bull mixes.

Let's keep the pit bulls' image squeaky clean! Oh, wait. There was one pit bull involved. That shows there's no media conspiracy.
