PHOENIX AZ - 5 DOGS RIPPED CHUNKS OUT OF THEIR 2 OWNERS...WHEN FIRST RESPONDERS ARRIVED THEY HAD TO SHOOT SOME OF THEM TO SAVE THE NUTTERS' LIVES -- OFFICIALS DESCRIBE 3 OF THE MEAT GRINDERS AS PIT BULLS BUT NEIGHBORS REPORT THAT THEY ARE EXTREMELY AGGRESSIVE AND ARE INBRED WITH WOLF

 -
It was a terrifying ordeal for two people in the north valley. They are rushed to the hospital after being attacked by a group of dogs.

First responders got to this scene as it was happening and they say it was a vicious attack. These dogs were pulling their owners apart. Hearing fire officials describe this scene was quite stomach turning. His was a situation where everyone had to think fast...because these owners were on the verge of being killed.

“There were chunks of skin chunks of flesh being chewed out of them.”
Officials describe a nasty and violent dog attack on two owners early this evening.

The dogs were actively biting, chewing...”

A neighborhood near 35th Avenue and Deer Valley is rattled tonight as five dogs attacked their homeowners.

“I heard my neighbors across the street screaming bloody murder help, help help.”

First responders say the attack started in the home and somehow spilled out into the yard—that’s when Nicholas Reed ran over.

I saw him and a lady that lives in our neighborhood being eaten to death by their dogs.”

Nick says he ran home to grab his shot gun, but still was torn -- not knowing what to do.

“I kept asking him what should I do should I shoot em. He kept saying shoot em and the lady kept saying shoot the dogs and I told them to protect themselves and I shot my shot gun and shot one of the dogs.
One of the dogs was killed, but the others still lingered. First responders arrived quickly.

Once on scene, firefighters opened their SVA bottles, which made loud hissing noises. That’s when the dogs were spooked away and both of the victims were pulled to safety.

Nicholas saw both of them with dog bites all over their bodies. His heart hurts for his neighbors today after witnessing what happened.

He was in the Vietnam War and fought 20 years in the war and he did everything to protect our country and I feel like I had to give back and protect him.”

Officials weren't positive about the breeds of all FIVE DOGS, but they are sure that THREE OF THEM ARE PIT BULLS.  Neighbors however who are familiar with the dogs and claim they have been extremely aggressive in the past say they are inbred dogs that are 98% wolf.

We are working to confirm what exactly they were.  Both owners are in the hospital in critical condition.
We were told the dogs are still at the home, locked away and can’t be taken by Animal Control unless the owners surrender them.

AMSTERDAM NY - A FAMILY PIT BULL MAULED AN 8-YEAR-OLD BOY INSIDE THEIR FENCED-IN BACKYARD LEAVING HIM WITH SEVERE INJURIES BY BITING DOWN ON HIS NECK - HIS MOTHER WILL LIKELY BE CHARGED BECAUSE SHE HAS A HISTORY WITH PITS!

Amsterdam Police say they will likely charge the mother of an 8-yr-old boy who was attacked by the FAMILY PIT BULL.
Police say the dog ripped the skin from the little boy's throat and the child's mom 27-yr-old Jasmine Tirado lost part of her finger trying to save him, but police say Tirado will likely go in front of a judge for what happened because of her past when it comes to owning aggressive animals.
“It’s more than likely she will be charged,” Sgt. Carl Rust said.

Amsterdam Police say they expect to charge Tirado with possessing a dangerous animal.
The dog police say was involved in the attack is seen on video in the family's back yard.
Police say the 4-yr-old pit bull mix attacked Tirado's 8-year-old son Wednesday leaving him in serious condition with injuries to his throat.
“It's not common for a family pet to react this way,” Rust said.
Sgt. Rust says their investigation is still in its preliminary stages. He said investigators haven't interviewed Tirado and can't interview the injured boy, because he's sedated in the hospital.
He says officers will likely bring an initial charge against Tirado because of her history with pets.
“I think they're basing this charge on several instances where she was talked to, our Animal Control has talked to her in the past about the behavior of her dogs,” Rust said.
SIX YEARS AGO, TIRADO SPENT 19 DAYS IN SCHENECTADY COUNTY JAIL FOR A SEPARATE CASE INVOLVING AGGRESSIVE PIT BULLS.  IN 2011, THREE OF TIRADO'S PIT BULLS GOT LOOSE AND ATTACKED A 58-YEAR-OLD WOMAN.  THE DOGS INVOLVED IN THE 2011 CASE WERE PUT DOWN.
Shirleen Lucas,58-years-old, talks about being attacked by pitbulls in Schenectady ,NY Wednesday Aug. 24,2011.( Michael P. Farrell/Times Union) Photo: Michael P. Farrell
Amsterdam Police say they're looking at the old case for possible connections between what happened then, and what happened this week to Tirado's son. Investigators say they'll also investigate whether this dog was trained to act aggressively.
Tirado's home is plastered with signs that say the property has surveillance cameras.
Police say they plan to check that video to find out how the attack happened.
“Evidence is being gathered as we speak and a conclusion will come Monday or Tuesday of next week,” Rust said.
Police say based on their findings Tirado could face additional charges.
Based on the charge they now expect to file, a judge could order Tirado be banned from having dogs.
As of Thursday, the dog involved in Wednesday's attack was being quarantined at Tirado's house.
We spoke to neighbors who were concerned the animal would get out and attack someone else.
The Montgomery SPCA Shelter Manager Anthonio Baker says his shelter only takes in aggressive animals if it's an owner surrender, or if a judge rules the dog can't be at an owner’s home.
“It's up to the owner's discretion if they want to do the 10-day quarantine at their residence,” Baker said.
Police tell us the county health department and animal control allowed the quarantine to happen at Tirado's home because it was behind two enclosures.
Today, when we visited Tirado's home, the dog was no longer in the back yard enclosure.

MERCER COUNTY KY - A PIT BULL OWNER WAS VISITING A FRIEND AND BROUGHT HIS FACE-HANGING PIT ALONG...THE PIT ATTACKED A 6-YEAR-OLD CHILD IN THE FACE..THE 'RESPONSIBLE OWNER" TOOK HIS MEAT GRINDER AND RAN

Jordan Miller (Source: Boyle County Detention Center)

(WDRB) -- A Danville, Kentucky, man has been arrested weeks after authorities said his PIT BULL mauled a 6-year-old boy.
According to an arrest warrant, the incident took place on Wednesday, July 26, in Mercer County, Kentucky, just after 2 p.m.
The Mercer County Sheriff's Office says 25-year-old Jordan Miller was visiting a friend, when his pit bull attacked a 6-year-old boy at the home.
Authorities say the attack was "unprovoked and for no reason."
The attack left the boy with serious facial injuries that required long-term medical care, according to the warrant.
When he saw what happened, police say Miller ran away, not even bothering to find out how badly the child had been injured.  In subsequent weeks, he refused to cooperate with the investigation, according to the warrant.
The arrest warrant was issued on Tuesday, Aug. 15, and Miller was arrested by Danville Police on Sunday, Aug. 20. He is charged with tampering with physical evidence and harboring a vicious animal in connection with that case.

BYHALIA, MARSHALL COUNTY MS - A "PACK OF DOGS" MAULED AN 82-YEAR-OLD WOMAN WHO LIKED TO WALK IN HER NEIGHBORHOOD BUT WAS AFRAID OF THE DOGS..."SHE'S MUTILATED..SCALP, NECK, ARM MAY NOT CAN BE SAVED"

UPDATE:  http://www.fox13memphis.com/top-stories/82-year-old-woman-remains-in-serious-condition-after-dog-attack/603058107

An 82-year-old woman is in the hospital after the sheriff’s department says she was assaulted  by a PACK OF DOGS.  It happened off Whippoorwill Road in Marshall County. Those dogs now in sheriff custody.
One of the woman’s neighbors, Vickie Harris, rode in the ambulance with the victim to the hospital and said her friend has been concerned about the dogs for a while.
The image of her neighbors pain, ingrained in Vickie Harris’ mind.
“Just awful. To see her lay there and look at me and say, ‘ Vicki they got me.’”
Harris says it was around 8:30 a.m. Tuesday when she got a call from her sister. She lives a few houses up the road.
“She heard her screaming and she drove down to the end of the road, and she said the dogs were just like mutilating her.”
Harris quickly went to help too.
Suffering major, horrific injuries to her scalp and neck, it was a miracle she could still speak, Harris said.
“Her left arm is…they don’t know if they’re going to be able to save it or not.”
Neighbors we talked to said the victim is well-known in the area. She’s lived here for years and is frequently seen walking along the street.
“It’s a really small community. We’re all family,” neighbor Chelsea Brock said.
The Marshall Sheriff’s Department says the dogs are now at its facility.
But it’s too late — Harris said her friend had talked about the dogs before.
“She said she would spray them with that and they would leave her alone, and someone told her to put ammonia in the bottle, but she said she didn’t want to hurt the dogs,” Harris said. “She had the bottle in her hand but she wasn’t even able to get the top off to protect herself.”
Neighbors think the dogs might’ve been responsible for other animal attacks but never had any proof.
The sheriff says his department thinks they know who the dogs belong to, but at last check no charges have been filed.

MARTIN COUNTY FL - AN AMERICAN BULLDOG ATTACKED THE MOTHER OF ITS OWNER WHO WAS TAKING IT FOR A WALK LEAVING HER WITH A COMPOUND FRACTURE TO HER ARM AND MULTIPLE PUNCTURE WOUNDS ON HER HEAD AND BODY

The dog — a 4-year-old named Otto — attempted to attack a rabbit and pulled the woman walking him to the ground. After she fell, the dog began mauling her, according to a sheriff’s report.

Emergency dispatchers received multiple calls about the attack on Matousek Street, north of Cove Road and west of Horseshoe Point, just before 6 a.m. and could hear the victim screaming and the dog barking in the background. When deputies arrived, she had crawled to a screened-in area, keeping the dog outside.
The dog was aggressive toward deputies and wouldn’t allow them to get close to the victim, the sheriff’s report said. That’s when one deputy fired his shotgun, Snyder said.
“No question that he did the right thing,” Snyder said, adding that deputies don’t use tranquilizers for situations like that.
The victim, who is about 50 years old, was covered in blood, and had a compound break to her left arm and multiple puncture wounds on her head and body. She was taken to Martin Hospital South in Stuart and was listed in serious condition, though her injuries aren’t life threatening, the sheriff said.
Police had once before responded to a nonviolent call about the dog, which weighed more than 100 pounds. Though the breed isn’t known for its aggression, misdirected attacks like this are common, Snyder said.
“We domesticate our dogs, but at the end of the day, it’s a dog and it has certain instincts,” Snyder said. “Clearly he got into an aggressive, prey-driven mode.”
Snyder urged anyone who is unsure about their dog or neighbor’s dog should have a frank conversation about if the pet could become dangerous. He also said to remember nothing is ever certain.
“It’s amazing to me … how often people will say ‘I don’t know what happened he’s never been like that,” Snyder said.
Snyder didn’t expect any arrests to be made regarding the incident.

HOUSTON TX - FAMILY DOGS , EITHER A GIANT SCHNAUZER MIX OR A LAB RETRIEVER MIX OR POSSIBLY BOTH, FATALLY MAULED AN 8-WEEK-OLD INFANT BOY WHO WAS LEFT IN A BASSINET WHILE HIS PARENTS STEPPED AWAY

Sunday, August 20, 2017 06:21PM
A tragedy is unfolding on Houston's north side where an 8-week-old baby boy is dead after being mauled by the family pets.

Sources tell ABC13 the baby boy was in his bassinet when the parents stepped away. That's when the family's dogs, a GIANT SCHNAUZER MIX AND A LABRADOR RETRIEVER MIX, apparently attacked. The baby was mauled mainly in his torso area.

Parents called 911, but the little boy's life could not be saved.

"I just broke down when I heard about the baby, I didn't expect that," said neighbor Maria Medina, who saw the ambulance take the little baby away. "It was, I have no words for it, it was really bad."

The dogs, both named Jack, were quarantined by BARC, Houston's animal control agency. On Sunday, the father of the little boy officially turned over the dogs to animal control officers. The dogs were euthanized and will be tested for rabies.
