barking the rest of the dogs came running and the attack started. I was able to jump over a short cinder block fence but then fell and to God's glory I was able to hop up as soon as I fell before the pack was able to get me while on the ground. They were surrounding me and biting me all over my lower half. I began to try and climb a stop sign while screaming as loud as I could for help. I really thought I was about to die. The gentleman came running with some kind of stick and began swinging and yelling at the dogs. Many others were quick to follow. The dogs finally dispersed but only to sit together watching from across the street. The police had been notified and the ambulance was soon there assessing my medical needs as well. I was bitten over 18 times.I want to say thank you to the Andrews Police Department and the Andrews EMS and the emergency room staff at our hospital for all they did. I'm thanking God for sparing me and for another day to live. It could have been so much worse and even more awful, it could have been a child. I pray no one ever has to experience this. Please keep your animals in a fenced area!
