A 15-month-old boy was flown to Children's National Medical Center in Washington, D.C, this morning to be treated for a dog bite to his face.
Hagerstown Police spokeswoman Heather Aleshire said the boy was bitten shortly after 10 a.m. in the 600 block of George Street.
Investigators believe the dog was a PIT BULL or a ROTTWEILER.
The Washington County Humane Society was called to investigate, Aleshire said.
The boy was taken by ambulance to Western Heights Middle School, where a Maryland State Police helicopter was waiting to fly him to Washington.
Aleshire said anyone who saw the helicopter should not be concerned about an incident at the school. It was there only to take the boy to the hospital.

Another helicopter ride provided by dangerous dogs.

PIT BULLS: Coming to your neighborhood, putting your kids in the hospital or graves, removing limbs, killing pets, and causing mayhem wherever they go.
