
Plettenberg Bay police confirmed on Monday, August 7 that a man was killed during a PIT BULL attack in Kranshoek.
Police spokesperson Captain Marlene Pieterse said the 53-year-old man had reported for duty at his employer's farm on Tuesday, August 1, when the incident took place.
"He entered the owner's yard at about 09:00 where he was busy building a house. The dog was tied up on the property when he arrived," Pieterse said.
She added that the dog managed to break loose and attacked the worker.
"He had open wounds to his neck and scratch marks on his back. He died on the scene."
Pieterse said the KwaNokuthula police had opened an inquest docket and were investigating the matter."
