SLATON TX - A WOMAN WAS FEEDING HER DOGS WHEN SHE WAS ATTACKED BY HER RED NOSE PIT BULL...THE MEAT GRINDER BROKE HER HANDS, TOOK A HUGE CHUNK OUT OF HER FOREARM THEN WENT FOR HER FACE!!!

On 8 22 2017 Cindy Bernosky was outside in her back yard feeding her dogs. One of her dogs is a red nose pit. While feeding  them she was attacked by the pit and suffered serious injuries to her hands and forearms and face. Both of her hands were broken in trying to fight the dog off. She has a chunk of her forearm missing and has to have surgery on both hands, one For arm and plastic surgery on her lip.
I have known Cindy for 4years now. This woman is one of the most gental kind hearted person I know. She never askes for anything. She is the only income in her home where she is raising an 11year old girl and has a daughter that is disabled. She is not going to be able to work due to the injuries. If there is anyone I know who deserves help it's her...

I'm sorry, but I will not be donating to an idiot that thinks a pit bull is a safe pet. This nutter did not want to believe the haters.

These are horrific injuries. I do feel sorry for Ms. Bernosky. There is such a mass of misinformation about pit bulls out there endlessly repeated, often by mainstream animal welfare groups and media. There is a huge concerted effort to get these dogs accepted into middle America as regular pets. People are getting duped. She may have had prior clues about her own dog's temperament but so many attacks are unprovoked and out of nowhere. When is some mainstream organization going to admit these are high risk dogs? Not all dog breeds are the same. I read that domestic dogs show more behavioral diversity than any other land mammal. This is due to their history of being bred for specific tasks. Breed matters.

She's a volunteer. I would never give money to an idiot that willingly brought that thing into her own house. You sometimes do have to live with the choices you make in life. I'm glad it was her and not a kid or neighbor.
