SULLIVAN COUNTY NY - A LOOSE PIT BULL ATTACKED A WOMAN WALKING WITH HER 3 DOGS ON SUNDAY AFTERNOON - ONE OF HER PETS WAS FATALLY INJURED

Sullivan County deputy sheriffs are searching for a  PIT BULL  that attacked a woman and her dogs on Sunday.
One of the woman’s dogs was killed.
According to the sheriff’s office, the attack happened about 1:30 p.m. Sunday on Melody Lake Drive, near the border between the towns of Thompson and Forestburgh.
The sheriff’s office said a woman was walking her three dogs when the pit bull approached and attacked the woman and two of her dogs. One of the dogs was fatally injured in the attack.
A good Samaritan stopped to help the woman and was able to distract the pit bull, which broke off the attack and ran away, the sheriff’s office said.
The woman was taken to Catskill Regional Medical Center in Harris, where she was treated for cuts.
The dog being sought is described as a large gray pit bull with a red collar.
