CORPUS CHRISTI TX - A LOOSE PIT BULL ATTACKED A MAIL CARRIER CAUSING INJURIES TO HIS FOREARM

(KIII NEWS) - A mailman in Corpus Christi was attacked by a PIT BULL  Thursday afternoon in the 3300 block of Brawner Parkway.
Police said the man was carrying the mail when he was attacked and suffered injuries to his forearm. He was treated at the scene and is expected to be okay.
Police said the owner of the dog has been cooperative.
"At this point, the owners are very cooperative," said Officer Robby Rodriguez with the Corpus Christi Police Department. "They expressed some difficulty because their fence was blown down during the storm. They use a leash and the dog got off the leash."
The pit bull was taken in by Animal Care Services for a 10-day observation period to make sure it does not have rabies and to make sure it is up to date on its vaccines.
