KINGSVILLE TX - A 58-YEAR-OLD WOMAN WAS PIT SITTING HER SON'S MEAT GRINDER WHEN IT ATTACKED HER ... HER HUSBAND TRIED TO HELP HER AND BOTH SUFFERED HORRIFIC ARM INJURIES - LIFE FLIGHT TO CORPUS CHRISTI

A 58-year-old Kingsville woman and her husband are recovering in the hospital after they were attacked by a dog.  

At 8:22 p.m. Sunday, Kingsville police officers and medics arrived at the couple's home in the 400 block of East Avenue D, according to a news release. They discovered a male  PIT BULL  had attacked the woman and then her 62-year-old husband when he tried to defend her, the release states. 

The couple was taken to a  Kingsville hospital and were later transferred to a hospital in Corpus Christi with bites and scratches. "Both of the woman's wrists were broken and the man had a broken wrist and is "missing a portion out of his arm",  the release states.

The dog, which belongs to the woman's son, was picked up by animal control. The woman was taking care of the dog temporarily, the release states.
