MOBILE AL - A POLICE OFFICER SHOT AND KILLED A PIT BULL WHILE INVESTIGATING A CALL OF A DOG BITING A PERSON

A Mobile police officer shot a  PIT BULL  to death after it charged at police while they were investigating a complaint of a dog biting a person on Driftwood Drive North Friday night, according to Mobile police.
Police responded to the 1400 block of Driftwood Drive North just before midnight, police said. Once in the yard, one of the pit bulls charged at the police officer and an animal control officer, police said.
The officer fired several shots at the dog, killing it, police said.
Police did not say how many pit bulls were at the location.
