Authorities are looking for a pit bull terrier that attacked its owner in Lincoln early Tuesday morning.
Lincoln Police were called to a home near 31st and Potter just before 1 a.m.
LPD said they received reports of a dog attacking its own family. A 25-year-old woman said the PIT BULL became aggressive toward her husband, so she grabbed a bat to protect her family.
According to police, the woman was bitten on the hand, leg, and chest.
The dog latched onto the woman's leg, and she proceeded to hit the dog roughly 30 times in the head but it would not loosen its grip, authorities said.
Police tased the dog as it was attacking the victim.
LPD said the dog ran away and hasn't been seen since.
The dog is described as a 2-year-old white pit bull named Zeus.
Animal control is investigating and authorities are asking for people to pay attention to their surroundings.
Anyone who spots the dog should call police or animal control at (402) 441-7900.
