CALGARY AB CANADA - A LARGE PIT BULL JUMPED OUT OF A SUV WINDOW BECAUSE IT SAW SOMETHING IT COULD KILL...A JACK RUSSELL TERRIER BEING WALKED BY ITS OWNER

A woman staying at a Calgary motel could only watch in horror Thursday afternoon as a  PIT BULL  attacked and killed her dog.

The dead dog’s owner, Anne, said she had just taken her Jack Russell, Trip, outside of the Traveller’s Inn on 16th Avenue N.W. for a walk.
“I went around the corner and there was a dog in this SUV,” said a distraught Anne, who declined to give her last name.
“The guy had his windows down and that big, big dog jumped out and got Trip by the neck. He was shaking Trip around in his mouth. He latched onto Trip like there was no tomorrow.”
The owner of the vehicle came out, grabbed his dog and fled the scene in a pickup truck, said Anne. A witness was able to provide police with a licence plate number.
She said police told her that the dog who attacked her pet was just cleared Wednesday from another incident.
“I guess he had done it before, the police said,” said Anne, who is visiting from Ontario.
When she first got Trip from a friend, she was never a fan of him, but their love grew over time.
“He was a little ankle biter,” she reminisced about the pup she had for seven years.
“I hated him. I hated Trip and then my girlfriend asked me to babysit him one night. She never came back for him and I’ve had him ever since.”
Rachel Thomson, who lives near the motel, said she heard a commotion outside and saw the scene from her back deck.
“I heard shouting so I went onto my deck and I saw this big dog shaking a little dog,” said Thomson.
“The lady kept shouting, ‘he’s dead, he’s dead!’ ”
Anne said she plans on laying charges.
Police and bylaw continue to investigate.
