MOSSVILLE, PEORIA COUNTY IL - A 15-YEAR-OLD PIT BULL OWNER WALLOPED HIS FATHER WITH A BAT AND ALLOWED HIS PIT TO BITE BOTH HIS MOTHER AND HIS FATHER WHEN THEY ASKED HIM TO PICK UP THE DOG DO OFF THE FLOOR

When a father threatened to get rid of his son’s PIT BULL, the teen hit him with a baseball bat, police said.

Shortly after 1 p.m. May 13, the Peoria County Sheriff’s Office was called to a residence regarding a teen “trying to attack” his parents with his pit bull, according to a deputy’s report. The deputy arrived to find a shirtless 15-year-old holding a leash from which a pit bull was straining hard, the report stated.
When the deputy ordered the teen to tie the leash to a post, the youth handed the leash to his mother. The dog then “began biting” the mother in the leg, the report stated. The deputy warned that he would shoot the dog if the teen didn’t tie it to the post, and the youth complied, the report said.
The father told the deputy that the “dog was vicious and needed to be put down,” the report said. The teen’s mother and father told the deputy the same back story. The mother had directed their son to pick up dog feces from the floor of the house, but he refused, preferring to continue playing video games, the report stated. The father began to argue with his son, who “grabbed his dog and used it to protect himself,” the report stated.
Fearful of the dog biting the father, the mother told the boy to take the dog outside. But the dog got loose and bit the father in the leg, the report stated. When the father said he would get rid of the dog, the son grabbed a baseball bat and walloped his father in the back, the report stated.
At the mom’s urging, the boy’s sister called police.
To police, the boy essentially corroborated his parents’ account. He said the dog gets “defensive because the dog doesn’t like” the dad yelling at the son, the report stated. The teen also said “he was upset because his dad wanted to take his dog away,” thus prompting the baseball-bat attack, the report stated.
Peoria County Animal Protection Services arrived and took away the dog without incident. The teen was taken to the Peoria County Juvenile Detention Center.

HA! I love it I want a cute purse!

I saw this story on dogsbite.org's twitter feed. Is anyone surprised? I'm not!

A pit bull "gets defensive because the" pit bull doesn't like the dad yelling at the son. Insert eye roll here.

Maybe the dad wouldn't have to yell if the asshole son would do simple things like cleaning dog shit out of the house? Or perhaps, taking Fang outside to do his business once in a while? You know, responsible pit bull ownership type stuff! Oh, I forgot! There's no such thing as a responsible pit bull owner!
