CHARLOTTE NC - TWO SISTERS, AGES 14 AND 4, WERE ATTACKED BY A PIT BULL AS THEY WENT ON THEIR USUAL WALK TO THE NEIGHBORHOOD STORE

 - Two girls were bitten and attacked by a dog in north Charlotte Saturday morning.
"The dog jumped on her first and then I tried to kick it off of her and then it bit me on the leg," said 14-year-old Shakimia Ivey.
Shakimia was bitten on her leg  and her 4-year-old sister Stephanie was bitten three times. Both were taken to the hospital and released.
"It could've been worse. It wasn't that bad, but I saw blood so that's what caught my eye," said mother, Teresa Covington.
Animal control telling the family the PIT BULL that attacked the girls was caught and they were still searching for another.
Covington wants answers, she's upset with how the girls regular trip to the store nearly turned tragic.
"We've been in this neighborhood for years and they  walk to the store all the time which they should be able to walk to the store without being attacked," said Covington.
"I am just trying to figure out why this dog was out like that with no lease. I just want to know who the owners are," she said.
