GREENVILLE SC - A 42-YEAR-OLD MAN WAS LITERALLY TORN TO PIECES BY DOGS INSIDE HIS HOME ...UP TO 12 DOGS WERE INSIDE AND IT IS BELIEVED THAT THEY WERE STOLEN
A 42-year old man in Greenville, South Carolina who is believed to be responsible for the theft of dozens of dogs in the local area has been found dead after the stolen animals turned on him and mauled him.
Officers were called to the property after neighbors reported hearing a man calling for help. Inside they were confronted with a shocking sight. “There was a deceased victim, but his injuries were so great that at first we weren’t sure if it was a male or female.”
Before being able to enter the property, the officers had to calm down the dogs inside, believed to be up to 12 and all likely stolen from local dog owners. “The dogs were in a complete frenzy, it took animal handlers over an hour to get them settled down so we could go inside.”
The 42-year old victim was found in the living room and had literally been torn apart. “We found his limbs had all been completely chewed off, and his neck was nearly completely detached from his torso.”
It’s not entirely clear what made the dogs turn on the man. Among the dogs found at property were two bulldogs, a german shepherd and a rottweiler. “Some of the dogs were quite large, but we can’t determine which dogs were involved in the mauling.”
The rescued dogs will be taken to an animal shelter while authorities work to reunite them with their owners. “We hope to be able to find the owners of all these stolen dogs, and I’m sure they’ll be thrilled to hear they are safe and well.”
