Portland police generic
(KPTV) - Police say an officer shot and killed a  PIT BULL  that was chasing firefighters in southeast Portland Sunday.
According to police, an aggressive pit bull was chasing firefighters who were responding to a trash fire in the 11100 block of Southeast Melania Court at about 12 p.m.
No firefighters were injured. Police say Multnomah County Animal Control responded to take custody of the dog.
Police are trying to figure out if the dog was a stray or has an owner.

I'm sure the nutters will try to explain that the pit bull was only trying to help, as it was a hero pit bull specifically trained to assist firefighters in putting out trash fires. It's also possible the pit bull probably thought the firefighters were trapped and needed rescuing. Hero pit bulls have dragged babies from burning buildings before you know?
