Oklahoma City school officials are reviewing security protocols following a dog attack that left 12 children injured Monday afternoon.
About 12:40 p.m. Monday, a  PIT BULL TERRIER  ran into the Fillmore Elementary School's playground during third- and fourth-grade recess, school officials said. It attacked students on the playground, then tried to go into the school building, where a teacher tackled the dog.
Special education teacher Lee Hughes wrestled the dog to the floor and held it there until Oklahoma City police officers arrived and took it to a patrol car.

Twelve children were taken to the hospital after a dog attack at an Oklahoma City elementary school's playground on Monday, KOCO reported.

The attack was reported at Fillmore Elementary School just before 1 p.m.
Officials said several children were bitten by a dog on the playground. Twenty-eight kids were on the playground at the time of the attack.
No critical injuries were reported, officials said.
A teacher tackled the dog in the hallway of the school.
The dog, described as a possible PIT BULL MIX, was taken in to Oklahoma City Animal Welfare.

That pit bull strongly resembles Petey from Our Gang! Now if only the owner of the Petey lookalike drew a circle around its left eye, then we could have had a cute picture to go along with the story about the hero pit bull that saved children from not going to the hospital.

This story makes me sick. 12 children out of 28 were bitten. That's 1 in 4! Pit bulls attack children at bus stops, on playgrounds, and in schools, yet, pit bull advocates love to tell the lie that pit bulls are nanny dogs. Yeah, demented nannies that like to attack children.
