NEW CASTLE DE - OFFICERS WERE FORCED TO SHOOT 2 PIT BULLS THAT WERE ATTACKING THEIR OWNER AND ANOTHER WOMAN

Two pit bulls attacked their owner and another woman forcing officers to open fire in New Castle, Delaware, police say.

It happened around 6:30 p.m. Wednesday on the unit block of Scottie Lane.

Arriving officers saw the  TWO PIT BULLS  attacking the 70-year-old owner and a 20-year-old woman.

An officer yelled to distract the dogs.

According to police, one of the dogs attacked the officer after hearing the yelling. The officer then fired one shot at the dog.

The dog ran off, but was eventually captured by animal control.

The other dog then charged at police and was shot by multiple officers, according to authorities.

The women were bitten in their arms, legs, and torso. Police say the injuries are serious but not life threatening.

It really irritates me when a Darwin Award is in progress, and the police arrive to stop the nutter from receiving their richly deserved award.
