MT. WASHINGTON, PITTSBURGH PA - 2 PIT BULLS "SOMEHOW" GOT OUT AND ATTACKED A MAN, THEN CHASED A WOMAN WHO MANAGED TO GET INSIDE HER CAR , THEN WENT RUNNING THROUGH OLYMPIA PARK WHERE KIDS WERE PLAYING

A pair of  PIT BULLS  that attacked a man Tuesday in Mt. Washington have been euthanized, according to Pittsburgh police.

The victim, whose name was not released, was taken by ambulance to a local hospital for treatment, police said.  He was in stable condition. He suffered injuries to his arm and leg.
The attack occurred shortly before 1 p.m. in the 600 block of Olympia Street, according to a Pittsburgh police spokeswoman.
Animal control officers searched the neighborhood for the dogs and found one at about 2:45 p.m., police said. The second animal was caught about 10 minutes later.
The owner of the dogs, who assisted officers with the search, agreed to surrender the pit bulls to the Humane Animal Rescue shelter, where they were both put down.
The Allegheny Health Department also performed tests to determine if the dogs had rabies.
A woman who was walking her dogs at the time said she heard a man screaming and then saw the two pit bulls running toward her, according to Tribune-Review news partner WPXI-TV.
“The pit bull started coming down the hill going to chase me, so I went running to my car,” Riley O’Donnell told the TV station. “There’s kids playing at (Olympia) Park, the dogs go running through the park, go up to the little girl, sniff the little girl and then run away.”
O’Donnell said she called 911 and then checked on the injured man.

Does anyone else think those pit bulls look like predators?

Why is a pit bull's first inclination to attack? Is it because of genetics or rabies?
