Two people were seriously injured in a dog attack Sunday morning in Mirabel, Que.
Mirabel police say that a PIT BULL-TYPE DOG attacked the people, who are both in their 20s.
The attack happened around 11 a.m. inside the victims' residence. A 25-year-old woman, who is the owner of the dog, suffered severe injuries to her arms. She is in stable condition.
A 23-year-old man who also lives at the residence suffered injuries to his arms and back and is also in stable condition.
Police say this is the first time the dog has attacked someone.
Police say that, for now, the dog will be returned to its owner before it undergoes an assessment by MAPAQ, the provincial ministry responsible for agriculture, animals and wildlife.
Per new provincial regulations on dangerous dogs, the municipality will then determine what to do with the animal.
