Police said three dogs - TWO PIT BULLS AND A PIT BULL MIX  -- fatally mauled 56-year-old Bruce Allen on Saturday.
He had been walking to visit an acquaintance when the canines attacked. Their owner was not home at the time.
Investigators said it was more than an hour before someone found Allen mortally wounded.
He was airlifted to Medical City Plano on Saturday afternoon and died as a result of his injuries on Monday morning.
Bennington police Chief James Heil said he was not expecting what they saw when responding to the call.

"We received a call around three o'clock in the afternoon of a dog bite victim in the 400 block of Nail Street," Heil said. "When my other officer and I arrived, we saw an individual who had been mauled by a dog... not just bitten."
As the officers approached the victim, Heil said three dogs -- suspected of being the same ones that killed Allen -- started charging at them and they had to open fire in defense.
One of the dogs later died; the other two ran away after the lead dog was shot.
This isn't the first time these dogs violently interacted with a person. We'll have more on that story Monday on KTEN News at 10.

Vicious Dog Attack Bennington

(KXII) - A Bennington man has died after police say he was attacked by dogs in a Bryan County neighborhood.

Bennington police were called to Nail Street near North Ralls Street Saturday following an attack from TWO PIT BULLS AND A MUTT.
"Whenever me and my other officer arrived on scene, it was gorey, horrific. The worst I've ever seen," said Bennington Police Chief James Heil.
Alan Bruce was flown to a Plano hospital in critical condition. He died just before 11 a.m. Monday.
Heil said when he and other officers arrived, the dogs came after them. Heil shot and killed the lead pitbull, causing the other two to run away.

Wright says he wasn't home during the time of the attack and thought he had the dogs on leashes in his yard.
"You're dang right I'm sorry. Hooty (Alan Bruce) was a friend of mine, man. He was a real good friend of mine. They (Bruce's family) know I would never want something like this to happen to anybody," said Wright.
Heil said a month ago Wright's dogs got loose and attacked a young girl near the fire station. She was taken to the ER as a precaution but wasn't seriously hurt.
These same dogs also attacked 14-year-old Zachary Burkhalter on his way home from school on Thursday.
"I was just walking home from school, like just a normal day. Out of nowhere, all these dogs just came up on me and started biting at me," said Burkhalter. "As soon as I left, they all came up. I had my baseball bat this time. I hit them and stuff, and they bit me right on my leg."
Heil says for now the dogs are still at Wright's house, and it will be up to the District Attorney if he'll face charges.
However, Burkhalter and his mother Amber Davis want something done now.
"I just hope that they get removed, or put up or something. We do not need that," said Burkhalter.
"The dogs need to die.  They need to be killed because it's a continuous thing.  It's not like it happened, one time, a freak accident.  It's happened multiple times to multiple kids, and now there's a death in Bennington," said Davis."
Bennington City Council called an emergency meeting Saturday night to discuss the use of force. Heil says he was cleared for protecting the officers and the man who was attacked.
Bennington police will continue investigating.

ALVIN TX - A GRANDMOTHER RESCUED A GREAT DANE ...2 MONTHS LATER THE VERY LARGE DOG ATTACKED A GRANDDAUGHTER BITING DOWN ON HER HEAD AND RIPPING PART OF HER EAR OFF!!!

Grandma's three-foot-tall Great Dane bites off toddler's ear as pregnant mom puts arm in its mouth to save child

A 15-month-old toddler needs reconstructive surgery after her grandmother's pet dog ripped off part of her ear in a horrific attack. Earlier this year, Michelle Eling's rescue dog Harvey, who she had owned for two months, pounced on little Olivia, Daily Mail reports.
Olivia, now 18 months old, was playing with her mother Brittany, 23, on Michelle's kitchen floor when Harvey bit the toddler "out of nowhere."
The toddler, who had her right ear nearly ripped off when the three-foot-tall pooch tried to put her head in his mouth, was forced to undergo surgery and a skin graft following the savage attack.
Olivia, now 18 months old, underwent a one hour surgery to reattach the tip of her right ear after the attack three months ago. The toddler is pictured after her operation
"I was standing in the kitchen, Olivia and Brittany were on the floor playing, Brittany was making her giggle," Michelle, from Alvin, Texas, recalled. "I heard Harvey growl. Then I just heard Brittany scream 'no', I turned around and saw him lunge at Olivia."
"We couldn't get him loose. Harvey went to readjust his bite on her head and my son, Alex, managed to pull him away," she continued. "If he hadn't and he had got hold of her head, I would have had to decide who to save, my pregnant daughter or my granddaughter. All that was going through my mind was, 'she is not dying in my kitchen'. There was so much blood, I thought she was going to bleed out."
Brittany, a full-time mother of three, was eight months pregnant when she stepped in to save her eldest daughter.
Following the incident, little Olivia underwent a one-hour cosmetic surgery to re-attach the tip of her right ear.
The toddler was kept in hospital for two days after the attack and has been left with scars on her face
But that was not enough. The traumatized toddler also had a two-hour skin graft procedure on top of her head but has been left with permanent scars on her face since the attack.
Since the incident, Olivia has become wary around other dogs and sometimes wakes up from her sleep grabbing her ear.
Harvey, a Great Dane, was taken into quarantine for 10 days before being put down by animal control. His behavior is believed to have been the result of abuse he suffered at the hands of his previous owners.
"I usually tell the dogs to go away if they approach us. For some reason, I let him come over and out of nowhere he bit her head," Brittany said. "He was trying to get her head in his mouth. I've blocked it out so I only remember bits. I remember my mom and brother trying to pull him away and I put my arm in his mouth."
"All I could think was please keep crying because I knew if she was crying then she was alive," she recalled. "There was blood everywhere. I was pregnant but I wasn't thinking about me. I just wanted to save my daughter."
As Brittany realized how close she had come to losing her daughter, she wanted the dog put down. However, 45-year-old Michelle said she felt sorry for Harvey and blamed his previous owners for his actions.
"It was a complete shock because Brittany was a sweet dog, you could just tell he'd been abused," she added. "He didn't know how to be a dog, he didn't know how to run and didn't like going on the grass. He didn't have a good life, but he was sweet and he wanted attention."
"Shame on the people who owned him before, I just hope in the two months he spent with us it showed him a different life," the dog lover explained. "You don't want to see an animal put down but once they have done something like this there's no going back.
Michelle called it a "Catch 22" situation, saying you may "love an animal but you love your kids more."
"Once they have a taste of blood, it's too late," she said. "I wasn't going to be responsible for him doing that again. He nearly killed my granddaughter. I thank my lucky stars she's alright."

ST. ANDREW JAMAICA - A TEACHER WENT OUT FOR A WALK AND IS NOW IN CRITICAL CONDITION AFTER BEING MAULED BY A NEIGHBOR'S 4 PIT BULLS FOR HOURS

A grade six teacher is now battling for life after she was mauled for hours by a PACK OF PIT BULL DOGS  on Thursday.
The St Richards Primary School teacher was heard screaming for help “for hours” while she was being mauled by  AT LEAST FOUR DOGS   on Woodland Way, in Coopers Hill, St Andrew, neighbours and friends told The Gleaner.
They blasted the police, claiming a team did not show up until nearly four hours after the incident was reported.
The police have disputed this claim.
Police spokeswoman Deputy Superintendent Dahlia Garrick said based on her preliminary investigations that it did not take cops four hours to respond.
Garrick says an investigation is underway to establish, among other things, the time between when the police were notified of the attack and when a team arrived at Woodland Way.
“The call was placed to police control then dispatched to a team in the area. When they [the police team] got the call [from control] they were on another assignment”, Garrick explained.
“I am satisfied that this is not being treated lightly”, she insisted.
The family friend said when the attack ended, the sixth-grade teacher had lost an ear and “had wounds so deep doctors could barely stitch them”.
“Her legs were torn apart and she is swollen, especially her head”, the family friend disclosed.
It’s reported that she underwent surgery late yesterday and was expected to do another operation today. She remains in intensive care.
According to reports, the teacher, who moved to Coopers Hill shortly before the new school year began in September, was out for her regular evening walk when the incident happened.
The family friend said a neighbour reported hearing the cries for help for over an hour and thought something was wrong.
He reportedly went outside to find out what was happening when he saw the woman on the ground and four dogs mauling her.
“He said the more she moved is the more the dogs bite her so they told her to stay still and that’s when they stopped biting her and start licking the blood”, the friend told The Gleaner.
It’s reported that he ran to the Red Hills Police Station to get help, but the cops did not show up until nearly four hours later.
“When they got there the dogs were still mauling the woman. The dogs tried to attack the police and one of the policemen fired a shot in the air and the dogs ran”, the family friend claimed.
Garrick confirmed that when the police team arrived the woman was still being mauled by the dogs and had to be rescued by the cops.

"THERE WERE 4 PIT BULLS STANDING OVER HER."

One of the men who was first on the scene of a dog attack on a sixth-grade teacher has recounted seeing four pit bulls standing over the helpless woman laying on the road surface.
Delroy Foster says one of the dogs was standing to the side while another was “licking the blood” off the St Richards Primary School teacher as she was sprawled out on Woodland Way, in Coopers Hill, St Andrew.
“That time them bite, bite her up long time”, Foster told The Gleaner during an interview today.
He said he and another man had gone there in a car to assist his neighbour, but had to take refuge in the vehicle after the dogs turned their attention to them.
“The brethren who me call, him have a crow bar and him say we ago come out a the car and lick the dogs…we couldn’t come out because the dog dem a rush we”, he recounted.
After nearly three hours, Foster said the ordeal ended when one of the policemen who arrived at the scene shortly before 8pm fired a bullet into the sky as one of the dog attempted to attack the cops.
By this time, he said the sixth-grade teacher was naked from the waist down, with blood and bite marks all over her body.
He said the wounded woman was still able to tell police personnel her name as well as her daughter’s name and telephone number.
Foster said she also gave the police the dog owner’s name and asked to be taken to Andrews Memorial Hospital.
“The areas around the bite marks start to get black and she said she just wanted to get to the doctor”, he recounted.
Foster said he was first alerted to her plight around 5:30 pm.
He said he was at the back of his house, located about “a good distance” away from the scene of the attack when he heard a woman screaming ‘help, help…Lord, help me, somebody come help me’.”
“The dog them a bite, bite her up and a mek up noise same way”, he said.
Foster said he called a friend to go with him to assist the woman. He said when his friend arrived about one and a half hours later the woman was still screaming.
He acknowledged that a police team arrived at the scene almost an hour after he telephoned a friend and asked him to go inside the Red Hills Police Station and ask them to come and assist.
“Tell the police dem say I want assistance up a Coopers Hill right now ‘cause some pitbull up yah a kill one lady and we trap in a di car can’t come out”.
However, he said a policeman refused to take the phone from his friend, indicating that “them done hear already and no vehicle no deh deh”.
Foster believe it was God who caused him to be at the back of his house so he could help to rescue the teacher.
“If me never go over there [to Woodland Way] enuh, no police wouldn’t know say that happen enuh, nobody wouldn’t know. Maybe when the owner [for the dogs] come home him would a see her out in a the road dead”, he opined.
“Is just three houses on that side where she did a walk enuh and nobody never come home at the time and is not a popular road fi say vehicle ago pass and somebody ago see her and assist her”.

EAGLE MOUNTAIN UT - HOME SURVEILLANCE VIDEOS SHOW A 9-YEAR-OLD GIRL BEING ATTACKED BY A MASTIFF AND A WIRE TERRIER WHILE RIDING HER BIKE ...SHE WAS RESCUED BY A NEIGHBOR THEN THE DOGS TURNED AND ATTEMPTED TO ATTACK ANOTHER CHILD!

VIDEO

EAGLE MOUNTAIN, Utah, Sept. 14, 2019 (Gephardt Daily) — Home surveillance videos released by the Utah County Sheriff’s Office show two views of an Eagle Mountain girl being attacked on Wednesday by two dogs, and a neighbor racing to save her.

The 9-year-old girl was in the Meadow Ranch area of Eagle Mountain at 4:30 p.m. Wednesday when the dogs, a wire terrier and a mastiff, attacked. Adult mastiffs can weigh 160 to 230 pounds, the American Kennel Club website says.
“The girl initially remained standing, but the dogs knocked her to the ground and continued their attack,” a statement from the Utah County Sheriff’s Office says.
“The attack continued for more than a minute until a man who lived nearby ran to help and chased the dogs away. Even as this man and another resident helped the girl, the dogs remained in the area and one even went back to where the girl was. As these men remained with the girl and deputies were on their way, the dogs went after another child riding a bike nearby.
“The first man who ran to help the 9 year old then chased after the dogs who went after the second child on a bike. The second child was not injured.”
The first child sustained numerous bites and scratches on the front and back of her upper body and on her arms, the Utah Sheriff’s Department statement says. The child was wearing a coat or jacket, which likely helped reduce the severity of her injuries.
“Deputies located the dogs and seized them. They are currently being held at the North Utah Valley Animal Shelter,” the statement says.
“The owners of the dogs were both cited for allowing an attack by dogs and for allowing their dogs to run at large.”

SALT LAKE CITY UT - A MAN DESCRIBES HOW HE WAS TERRIFIED FOR HIS LIFE WHILE BEING ATTACKED BY 2 PIT BULLS AS HE WAS WALKING HIS OWN DOG...THE PIT OWNERS STOOD BACK AND WAITED BEFORE GETTING THE MONSTERS OFF HIM!

Animal control officers are looking for  TWO PIT BULLS  who attacked a Salt Lake City man. The alleged victim said what he’s most upset about is that the dogs’ owners didn’t try to stop the attack right away.
It happened near 300 East and 1900 South on Wednesday night around midnight.
Gary, who only wanted to be identified by his first name, said he was walking his dog Daisy when he saw another dog running toward them out of the corner of his eye.
“She’s not small and she’s strong too, but she didn’t stand a chance,” said Gary, describing his own dog.
He said the pit bull attacked Daisy first, but then immediately went for his leg and latched on to his inner thigh. While he was trying to fight it off, Gary said a second pit bull attacked him.
“It jumped up and grabbed me in the ribs and pulled me to the ground,” Gary said.
The attack lasted only seconds but felt much longer. Gary said he was terrified for his life.
“I didn’t know what to do. I was trying my best to fight them off but with how fast they were and how strong they were, I knew I wasn’t going to win,” he said. “I was just screaming for help. I thought I was going to die.”
What’s worse, Gary said, is that the owners didn’t try to get their dogs off him right away.
“I was screaming for help and nobody came,” he said. “They just watched.”
Eventually, though, the attack stopped and Gary said he looked up to see the owners holding the dogs back.
"They weren’t saying anything, didn’t ask me if I was OK,” said Gary.
He said he picked up Daisy and ran. Once he was safely home he called the police. They sent animal control out to look for the dogs, to no avail.
Gary showed KSL the puncture wounds and the bruising still very visible on his thigh and on his ribs, four days after the attack. Daisy wears a cone on her head to protect the injuries on her hind leg.
Gary is upset about the attack, but even more upset with the dogs’ owners.
“They were walking two pit bulls off leash that were very aggressive and they waited so long to do something,” he said. “If it had gone on a few more seconds, I was on the ground, they would have killed me.”
Gary described one of the dogs as dark with a lot of black in its coat. He said the other one is a gray-brown color.
Anyone with information is asked to call Salt Lake County Animal Control. Officers also want to remind dog owners that it is against the law for dogs to be off-leash while being walked in neighborhoods.

FUQUAY-VARINA NC - A PIT BULL MIX "SOMEHOW" GOT LOOSE AND RAN INTO A NEIGHBOR'S YARD AND ATTACKED A WOMAN AND HER LAB THAT WAS ON A LEASH ...AN OFF-DUTY POLICE OFFICER SHOT IT!!!

Fuquay-Varina police are investigating after officials said an off-duty Cary police officer shot and killed a dog after it attacked the officer's sister and her dog.
In a post on its Facebook page, police said they responded to a call close to 7 a.m. Wednesday at a home in the 1700 block of McLaurin Lane in Fuquay-Varina. The officers found the off-duty Cary officer, who was not named, had shot a  PIT BULL MIX DOG  after he said it attacked his sister and her dog on his private property. The dog was running at large and off its owner's property, officials said.

Officials said the dog ran into the Cary officer's yard and attacked his sister and dog, resulting in injuries to both. The officer said he heard his sister screaming, saw the neighbor's dog actively biting his sister and her leashed dog and ran to her aid. He then fired his gun and killed the dog.
The woman and her dog then received medical treatment.
Fuquay-Varina police contacted Wake County Animal Control to aid in an investigation. The Cary Police Department was also notified.
Fuquay-Varina listed this animal ordinance at the end of its Facebook post:
"Town Ordinance 8-11003 Animals running at large, public nuisance states, 'It shall be unlawful for any animal to run at-large off its owner's real property or premises within the Town of Fuquay-Varina corporate limits. Any animal not on the real property or premises of the owner's residence shall be required to be restrained by the owner using a leash and maintaining control of the animal while off the real property or premises of the owner.'"

SPOKANE WA - BONNIE RAE GOT HER BELOVED DOWNY WHEN HER HUSBAND DIED A FEW YEARS BACK ...LAST SUNDAY SHE WATCHED AS A PIT BULL IN SECONDS CHARGED FROM ACROSS THE STREET AND RIPPED HIM TO PIECES!!!

VIDEO

A Spokane woman had no idea when she took her dog for a walk last Sunday, that it would be their last.
“The whole thing from beginning to end was about six seconds - six or seven seconds,” said Bonnie Rae.
That’s how long it took for her neighbor’s  PIT BULL  to attack and kill her small dog. She says the dog charged at them from across the street, going straight for Downy.
Rae says she got Downy several years ago when her husband died. He’s been her companion ever since.
“He was in pieces and I guess I keep getting flashbacks,” said Rae.
She says she called 911, hysterical. About 30 minutes later, a SCRAPS animal control officer arrived.
As the animal control officer went next door, Ray says the dog ran out and attacked again, this time grabbing her daughter’s arm.
“The animal control officer is yelling at us to get into the house and call 911,” said Rae.
So she called again, hoping this time Spokane Police would get involved. Instead, police told Rae it wasn’t their policy to handle animal issues.
SCRAPS took the pitbull away.
Workers said  Rae's neighbor claimed to be watching the dog for someone else, but so far no one has come forward to claim it.
SCRAPS says the owner of the pit bull has eight days to claim their dog. If they don’t, it will be euthanized.

AMARILLO TX - GLENDA CATES, 70'S, AND HER PET DOG WERE ATTACKED IN THEIR BACK YARD AS THE NEIGHBOR'S PIT BULL BROKE THROUGH A WOOD FENCE

AMARILLO, Texas (KFDA) - An Amarillo woman is fighting for her life after she was attacked by a dog just a few days ago.
On Monday, the neighbor’s dog broke through the fence and attacked Glenda Cates and her dog.

She is recovering from surgery for her broken wrist and receiving skin grafts for her arm.
Due to her religion, she cannot receive a blood transfusion. She is currently in critical condition.
Kelly Cates, Glenda’s daughter, says she is thankful to the neighbors who saved her mom’s life.
“Just to say that I’m very thankful that my neighbors saved my mom’s life. And I don’t know what I would have done, it’s just very stressful,” said Cates.
The family’s dog was also injured in the attack and will have medical bills as well.
The family is asking the community for help as they cannot afford all the unexpected medical expenses the attack has caused.
Sarah Neely, the granddaughter of Glenda Cates, created a GoFundMe to help raise money for the expenses. If you would like to donate, you can do so here.
The dog involved in the attack is currently in quarantine at the Amarillo Animal Management and Welfare facility.
The investigation of the incident is ongoing.

My Grandmother Glenda is in the hospital due to an attack that happened just a few days ago. My grandmothers neighbors dog broke through her fence. Attacked my mothers dog that was in her yard. My grandmother got caught in between them and was severally attacked.

She broke her wrist. Has no skin on her hands, because the dog was literally eating her up. She is on blood thinners so her condition is getting way worse. She lost so much blood and is in horrible pain.

My mother is trying to get help in getting the help she needs. My grandmother has to have skin graphing some on her hands. So many surgeries, not to mention all the medications. My grandmother can’t afford that and neither can we.

We are worried she isn’t going to make it through. She is at BSA hospital in Amarillo, Tx now. Her nurse team is doing a great job of taking care of her. We want to take the dogs owner to court.

He was warned to fix his fence and his violent  PIT BULL  escaped and was filled with rage.

The dogs owner is trying to get this dog back and still hasn’t repaired the fence. He hasn’t even spoken up or apologized. We want to sue him to help pay for her medical bills and fence. His dog could of taken my grandmothers life.

If it wasn’t for her other neighbors that heard the commotion, she would be dead. The hero that saved her had to jump a fence and punch the dog in the head over and over to make it release it’s deadly grip off her arm. She is lucky to survive this attack. She is in her 70s and has many health issues but she’s a strong woman.

My grandmother is a member of the Kingdom Hall in Amarillo, Tx and came from a farming family.  She has vision issues but still goes outside and does house work.

My grandmother is a second mother to me.
She is a wonderful and strong person.
Please pray for my grandmother and family.
