ROCHESTER NY - THE OWNER OF A PIT BULL "DOESN'T KNOW HOW HIS MEAT GRINDER GOT LOOSE" AFTER IT ATTACKED A 5-YEAR-OLD BOY PLAYING NEAR HIS HOME ..."BUT IT'S USUALLY GOOD WITH KIDS"

Sep 25, 2019  (WROC) — A 5-year-old was mauled by a  PIT BULL  in Rochester and now his mother wants the dog removed.
She started a petition online and has called the Mayor’s office, but according to Rochester’s city code the dog must have its day in court.
“I heard screaming and whatnot and the neighbor standing diagonally from where we were standing said some kid is being attacked,” said the man who rescued the child and didn’t want to be identified.
Alexander Stanley is the 5-year-old who was attacked by a pit bull while playing in a lot near his home.
“It [the dog] did major damage,” said his mother Tracy Babcock. “Seventeen staples to the back of his head, three stitches across the bridge of his nose, butterfly stitches to his left arm, and a claw mark in the middle of his back.”
The man who rescued the child says the dog kept biting the child and wouldn’t stop. He says he had to forcibly hit the dog before he would let go of the boy.
“I just had to get him out of dangers way,” said the man. “It makes me cry because I have kids of my own.”
Now the boy’s mom wants animal control to remove the dog.
“I want the dog gone,” said Babcock. “I want to feel safe with my son being home.”
The owner of the dog says he doesn’t know how the dog got loose. He also said the pit bull is usually good around kids.
If Babcock wants the dog removed she will have to go to city court to prove the dog is a danger.
“The state law says people have the private right to consult an attorney to pursue it as a court proceeding called the dangerous dog,” said Chris Fitzgerald, City of Rochester Director of Animal Control. “In our municipality we also have the option to issue citations for a dangerous dog.”
To declare the pit bull a dangerous dog Babcock will have to get a lawyer at her own expense. Even if she goes to court and wins there is no guarantee the dog will be removed.
Along with removal there are several options the judge can impose. The dog could be required to be on a leash at all times, wear a muzzle when outside of the home, or the dog could be put down.

MADRID SPAIN - A 47-YEAR-OLD MAN WAS FATALLY MAULED BY ONE OF HIS THREE ROTTWEILERS

A MAN died after he was attacked by one of his own dogs in Coslada in Madrid on Sunday.
The 47-year old was at home when the animal, a ROTTWEILER, leapt on him and bit him in the face and thorax, Spanish media reported.
The victim, who reportedly had three guard dogs, was at his property located on an industrial estate with family members when the attack took place.
A call to 112 alerted the emergency services to the incident. When the medical team arrived at the scene they could only confirm the man’s death.
As well as the Rottweiler which caused the injuries the man had two other dogs. The Coslada Local Police Canine Unit reportedly transferred all three animals to an animal protection centre.

PRINCE GEORGE'S COUNTY MD - TWO AMERICAN BULLDOGS "SOMEHOW GOT LOOSE" AND BEGAN TRYING TO KILL SOMETHING ...A 72-YEAR-OLD MAN GOT THE WORST OF IT!!!

A brother and sister were hailed as heroes for helping save a 72-year old man who was attacked by two dogs. The mauling happened around 11:15 a.m. along Hill mar Drive in District Heights Maryland.
Jeremy Phillips-Mincey and his sister Jessica Phillips were about to catch a bus to the Howard University football game when the dogs attacked.
“I have never seen dogs with the look that they had in their eyes, or exhibiting the behavior that they had. They were just out for blood,” said Jeremy. “When I turned around there was one dog on each arm.”
So the 17-year old said he grabbed a stick to fend off the  TWO AMERICAN BULLDOGS.
“One of the dogs had the older man’s hand in his mouth. He was playing with it like it was a chew toy,” said Jeremy. “At no point did it cross my mind to not get involved. That was the only thing to do.”
“I knew he had it in him to stand up for somebody,” said Jessica Phillips. “I mean he is growling at the dogs, he is yelling, like, ‘Hey! Back up!”
Jessica called 911 from behind a fence. When the dogs finally ran away, the 24-year old used a sock to try to stop the 72-year old’s bleeding.
“He is moaning at this point. Just whole body is trembling. I am just trying to do the best that I can to make sure he is still conscious,” said Jessica. “At one point I asked him if he could open his eyes and tears started welling up.”
Prince George’s County Police said the American bulldogs also attacked a 52-year old man. Then one of the dogs charged officers, so they shot and killed the dog.
They got an animal control pole around the other dog, but the dog moved around so much, it strangled itself with the wire.
A third dog, which was not involved in the attacks, was taken away by animal control.
The owners have not been identified. It is not clear if they will be facing any consequences or what will happen to the third dog.
The Phillips siblings told ABC7, at last check, the victim they helped was in stable condition.
“I don’t know his name—I don’t think I have seen him before,” said Jeremy. “But after that type of experience, there is like a bond that I feel I have to him and I need to see him.”

SPRINGVILLE UT - KAYLA ANN PRICE, 26, WILL FACE A JUDGE AND ANSWER TO CHARGES OF CHILD ABUSE, INFLICTION OF SERIOUS PHYSICAL INJURY AND ALLOWING A VICIOUS ANIMAL TO GO AT LARGE ...THE MEAT GRINDER BIT OTHER CHILDREN THEN CHOMPED HER OWN DAUGHTER IN THE FACE!

Oct. 9, 2019 (Gephardt Daily) — A Springville mother charged with felony child abuse after her dog bit her daughter, causing a wound that required 27 stitches to close, had her case transferred from one Utah County Courthouse to another.
Kayla Ann Price, 26, will face a 4th District Court judge in American Fork rather than Provo. The reason for the move was not immediately clear. Her next court appearance has not yet been scheduled.
Price is charged with child abuse — infliction of serious physical injury recklessly, a third-degree felony; and with allowing a vicious animal to go at large, a class B misdemeanor.
The attack happened on June 13 of this year. A probable cause statement filed by the Utah County Attorney and based on a report from a Springville Police officer.
“(The) victim — an 8-year-old girl — was bitten by the family PIT BULL,” the statement says. “She was taken to the hospital where she received 27 stitches on her cheek, on her chin, and around her eye.
“The injuries have left scarring and possible permanent damage to the tear ducts.”
The dog belongs to Price, the statement says.
“This is at least the second time that the dog has bitten a victim on the face,” the statement says.
“The dog has bit other children in the past as well, yet the defendant insists on bringing the dog back into the family home.”

It was a sad Tuesday morning at CBA, Mambilla Barracks, Abuja, when a PIT BULL DOG owned by one Regimental Sergeant Major (RSM) attacked and butchered a 1-year-old boy.

It was gathered that the victim was playing outside when he was sighted by the dog which immediately pounced on him and went for his head. Immediately the residents saw what was going on, they started hitting the dog, but it didn’t let go until it was beaten to death. The boy was subsequently rushed to the hospital where he underwent series of emergency surgeries.

According to Punch, the dog attacked the baby on Tuesday, October 8, 2019, around 7.30 am.
The dog was said to have broken free from his cage and wandered off into the block where Michael was playing with his four year-old brother, Punch reports.
It was reported that Michael’s older brother upon seeing the dog ran into their house but the little Michael was not fast enough as the dog pounced on him.
Punch reports that the dog subsequently grabbed the baby by the head, dragged him about 30 metres away and bit him repeatedly.
While the dog was biting the baby, a neighbour who pleaded anonymity said she quickly raised the alarm.
She said, “I was by my balcony when I saw the dog grab Michael by the head. The dog bit his ear and tore off his scalp, exposing his brain.
“Incidentally, Michael did not scream as his blood littered everywhere. About four of us began throwing stones at the dog in a bid to get him to free Michael to no avail.
"SOMEONE WAS ABLE TO GET A CUTLASS AND SLASHED THE DOG WITH IT BUT IT WOULD NOT LET MICHAEL GO.  IT WAS WHEN THE CUTLASS HIT THE FACE OF THE DOG THAT THE DOG FELL AND DIED."
When his was informed about the killing of the dog, the soldier, a Regimental Sergeant Major, who owns the pitbull was said to have been furious.
Another resident of the barracks, who craved anonymity said the dog had been terrorising residents especially children, but all complaints to military authorities had fallen on deaf ears, Punch reports.
He said, “Some weeks ago, the same dog was let loose and began chasing children all over the place.
“A little girl fell into a gutter while running. I personally had to save the girl and chase the dog away.
“As a soldier I am not afraid of the dog but these little children playing in the barracks are not safe.”
Michael was said to have been transferred to Cedarcrest Hospital, Apo after being given first aid at the barracks clinic.
However, in a bid to save his child, the victim’s father has reportedly donated two pints of blood to his son, who is said to be in critical condition.
He has also refused to speak to journalists saying saying, “please get permission from my superiors before talking to me.”

ST. CROIX USVI - GLADESTONE ALEXANDER SIMON SR, 84, WHO WAS MAULED BY 5 PIT BULLS ON SEPT 4 HAS BEEN AT JUAN F. LUIS HOSPITAL IN PUERTO RICO SINCE - FUNDS ARE BEING RAISED TO MED FLIGHT HIM TO JOHN HOPKINS MARYLAND

ST. CROIX — Gladestone Alexander Simon Sr., the 84-year-old man whose life took a turn for the worse after he was viciously attacked by five pit bull dogs in his own yard last month, is still in a Puerto Rico hospital under intensive care, the victim’s son, Gladstone Alexander Simon Jr., told the Consortium during a phone interview Tuesday night.

“My dad is still in pretty bad shape. We are trying to get him moved to the United States so that he can have the professional assistance that’s required. But the challenge that we’re faced with is he can’t travel on a regular commercial airline so he needs to be medically transported to the states. It’s a pretty hefty expense to relocate someone that’s in his condition. We did find a physician that would like to take the case at John Hopkins University in Maryland, but once again he has to be medically transported,” Mr. Simon said.

The basic cost for the specialized transportation to John Hopkins is between $35,000 to $40,000, Mr. Simon said. The expense has led Mr. Simon and his siblings to create a GoFundMe account where anyone who wants to help can donate. Donate here.

The victim was ravaged by the five pit bulls on the night of Sept. 4. According to several individuals who witnessed the attack, some of whom were also attacked by the dogs previously in the Clifton Hill neighborhood, the man was in his yard when the dogs rushed him and started barbarously biting his flesh.

As the attack was occurring, frightful and angry neighbors called for help. They called 911 seeking immediate reponse — doing so with a high level of frustration as they had reported the dogs numerous times before to police with little results.

According to the neighbors, the wild pit bull dogs, 7 in total, belonged to a neighbor at the entrance of the street. This neighbor, a man, had been urged many times to properly secure the dogs in his yard because of the animals’ aggressive behavior toward the community, the neighbors said. The dogs have attacked virtually every family in the small neighborhood, according to multiple eyewitness.

Mr. Simon said the wounds on his father’s right leg are still open. “The doctors are stating that they can’t close the wounds up because of the bacteria from the dogs, so they have to keep it clean and there’s a [hyperbaric] chamber utilized everyday to make sure that the leg is being cared for, and they said it is very important that they be very careful with the surgery portion of it because they don’t want him to lose his leg,” he said.

Following the incident, five of the 7 pit bulls were euthanized. Another was held by authorities, and a the last, a female, was left with the owner because it recently gave birth to puppies, according to Danny Rodriquez, lead detective for animal cruelty at the V.I.P.D.

Last night, V.I.P.D. Public Information Glen Dratte told the Consortium that the owner of the dogs was still at large, though he stressed that the suspect would eventually be arrested.

Mr. Simon said while he intends on eventually taking on the criminal matter, his current focus was on the medical care of his father. “I received a few phone calls from attorneys that would like to pursue the case, but I just don’t have the time to address that right now. I want to make sure I focus on my dad’s care. Right now I’m in the Virgin Islands trying to take care of his personal affairs. I also finally got power of attorney because I would like to take care of his financial needs — making sure his bills continue to get paid,” Mr. Simon said. “It’s pretty tough for us right now.”

The family gave the Consortium permission to use the photos of the victim showing the wounds of the gruesome attack. They show what appears to be the man’s right foot disfigured with wounds and blood all over it; his chin showed a gaping wound and a deep gash under his lower lip.

Mr. Simon commended employees of the Juan F. Luis Hospital who he said worked to ensure his father survived the first critical hours following the attack. “I wanted to thank the Juan F. Luis Hospital because I know that initially, during the time of the injuries that my dad sustained, the first minutes and hours are critical and they did a very good job so I wanted to express my sincere thank you to the staff at the hospital.”

BLISS, GOODING COUNTY ID - A 3-YEAR-OLD GIRL WAS MAULED BY A "FAMILY PIT BULL" ...LIFE FLIGHT TO ST. LUKE'S BOISE WITH A SEVERE LEG INJURY

(KMVT/KSVT) — A 3-year-old Bliss girls is recovering after being attacked by a family dog.

Nevaeh Lynne Goedhart was attacked by a dog Monday, Sept. 30 at her great aunt's house in Bliss. The Gooding County Sheriff's Office investigated the incident. Sheriff Shaun Gough said the girl was playing in the house and took off running, when a  PIT BULL  that belonged to her family attacked her causing severe leg damage. The young girl was taken by a medical helicopter to Boise for medical treatment.
Her Great Aunt Glenda King, was at home watching Nevaeh, along with Nevaeh's older brother, when she heard a strange noise coming from the area where Nevaeh was playing with the dog.
"Was that a cry, was that a scream? And I said 'Javen, go get her,'" King said.
Naveah's brother, Javen, who heard the sounds, rushed inside and found the dog attacking Nevaeh.
"HE ALREADY LOCK-JAWED ON HER BACK RIGHT LEG AND JUST STARTED TOSSING HER AROUND,"  Javen said. "I kicked him three times. Once in the jaw, once in the ribs, and once in the back legs."

"You could see the rip on her leg, and she was crying," King said. "I grabbed her, and he went and got a towel for me."
Nevaeh's mother, Alexiss Goedhart, was just getting off work at the Oxbow Cafe in Bliss, just a few miles from the scene of the incident when she received notice of what happened.
"Apparently she got the phone call as she was leaving," Leslie Jones, the owner of Oxbow Cafe said.
Jones said everyone at the cafe was concerned for both of them.
"It was just utter chaos. It was crazy around here," she said.
Nevaeh's mother Alexiss said after she made it to Nevaeh, she took her to the Oxbow Cafe to meet the ambulance quicker. When they arrived, emergency responders discovered she would need to be flown to St. Luke's in Boise.
"Life Flight only took 13 minutes and they put a doctor on-board, which I was told wasn't normal procedures," Alexiss Goedhart said.
Nevaeh endured two surgeries at St. Luke's, and at one point her mother feared one of her legs would need to be amputated. But during her and her mother's time in the hospital, the Bliss community rallied behind her.
"That's when we did the GoFundMe. People were asking, 'Hey, where can we help?'" Ciara Hulme, a co-worker of Alexiss's at the Oxbow Cafe said. "I'm willing to help out, they're willing to help out, everyone was willing to help out. It was more than just our town, Gooding County has come together and said, 'Hey, let's help out.'"
Along her road to getting better, Nevaeh even had members of the Boise State Bronco Football team come see her in the hospital. And while the incident started out as a tragedy, thanks to the support of the community and the team at St. Luke's, Nevaeh was discharged from the hospital on Monday and is with her mother.
"She honestly took some steps on our way out of the hospital. So she's walking, not a lot, but she is" Alexiss said. "I'm just amazed."
The dog that attacked Nevaeh was put down shortly after the incident in what was described as a tough decision for the family. Alexiss said she holds no blame for the situation, and would like to thank everyone back home in Bliss, and especially everyone on the fourth floor of St. Luke's in Boise.
As of Oct. 7, the GoFundMe set up by Ciara has raised over $1,000 dollars, view the fundraiser here

PLYMOUTH CT - A WOMAN WAS MAULED IN HER BACKYARD BY 4 OF HER 6 VERY LARGE DOGS DESCRIBED AS FRENCH MASTIFFS OR DOGUE DE BORDEAUX

911 CALL -

Police officers shot dead four pet dogs after they viciously bit their owner. The incident took place in Plymouth, Connecticut, on Monday.
A woman was gravely injured and was considered to be in a critical condition after four of her own pet  FRENCH MASTIFF  dogs bit her. The officers responded to a 911 call at around 2.30 p.m. EDT, Monday. According to the police officers, the dogs were speculated to be around a hundred pounds and a few years old. The police officers did not reveal the identity of the woman.

The victim’s unnamed niece informed that her aunt had a total of six dogs. Two of them had stayed inside while the other four mauled the woman in the backyard. She said all four of the dogs were found attacking the victim when the police came and shot them. The police officers said the woman was sent to a hospital for treatment and the dogs were “contained” to secure the area.

(WTNH) — Police are investigating Tuesday after a woman was severely injured by her very own, very large, dogs in Plymouth Monday afternoon.

It was around 4 p.m when a neighbor called 911 and told police a woman was being attacked by FOUR LARGE MASTIFFS  outside in a yard on Eastview Road in the Terryville section of town.

When police arrived, they found all four dogs on top of their female owner, and that woman in bad shape.
Police had to act fast, not only to try to save the woman, but protect the whole neighborhood at a time of day when kids are returning home.

“The animals weren’t secure right away, so we want to make sure with the school bus coming home and that we were using different equipment up there” said Sergeant Randy Foster of Plymouth police. “We didn’t want people going to the area.”
Police shut down the neighborhood, closing streets and telling people to stay inside as they tried to capture the dogs.
Police also said, when the woman was put in the ambulance, one of the dogs tried to attack an officer.
They ended up having to use lethal force on three of the dogs. The fourth one was shot and later died.
“To have four dogs in an attack like this, it was an unfortunate incident,” Foster said.
The woman is reported to be in critical condition at Yale New Haven Hospital.
The victim’s niece said she’s shocked the dogs were aggressive.
“They are big but they are gentle giants,” said Megan Soucy. “Amazing dogs. There’s no reason why any of that should have happened. They aren’t vicious at all in the slightest. They are super nice.”
Family said the woman had six dogs total.
Police are still investigating why they turned on their owner.

MODESTO CA - A 21-YEAR-OLD MAN WAS FATALLY MAULED BY 2 PIT BULLS WHEN HE STAYED THE NIGHT AT A FRIEND'S HOUSE

Modesto police said two pit bull pets of a family who lives on Village Road killed a young man Monday who had been staying the night with people he called family.
Dustin Bryan's sister told FOX40 he was the one mauled to death by the dogs.
Still too emotional and too in shock, she and other relatives did not want to speak out about their loss and what is now a police investigation.
"It was horrific enough for our officers to call and treat this as a suspicious death. So investigators did respond to just ensure that what was going on," said Modesto Police Sgt. Kalani Souza.
Police believe 13-year-old Beze and 5-year-old Saxon attacked Bryan in the upper body around 7 a.m., leaving him down and unresponsive.
Now, they're in quarantine at the Stanislaus County Animal Services Agency.
“It's not a good situation at all,” said Stanislaus County Animal Services Executive Director Annette Patton. “We really feel for the family because my understanding is there's been no aggression shown from these dogs. It's just a very unique situation and a sad situation."
While in quarantine, Saxon and Beze will be tested for rabies and monitored by the staff veterinarian for any aggressive tendencies.
“The animals need to be separate from the public and they need to be quarantined for 10 days. So, we have a lockdown situation here at the shelter, which means it is locked behind closed doors so we don't put anybody at harm or at risk," Patton said.
Meanwhile, police were trying to figure out how deadly harm could have come to a young man who was a frequent visitor to the Modesto home and presumably had been around the dogs before.
"We do not know how much interaction he's had with the dogs up to this point, if they were kept separate. We are still investigating all of that," Souza said.
There has been no word on any charges in this case.

An autopsy has been scheduled for sometime in the next few days.

UPDATE:  MAN POSSIBLY HAD SEIZURE THAT "TRIGGERED" THE DOGS TO GO PIT!

(CBS13) – Police say a man has died after he was attacked by TWO PIT BULLS  in Modesto.
The incident happened Monday morning along Village Road.
Modesto police say officers responded to help with a medical call after a man was found in a home bleeding and not breathing. The 21-year-old man was soon pronounced dead by medics at the scene.
Investigators believe the man was attacked by two pit bulls owned by the homeowner. Police say the 21-year-old man was visiting and stayed the night with the owner’s permission, but exactly what led up to him being attacked by the pit bulls is unclear.
Both dogs have been placed into quarantine.
Detectives are treating the incident as a suspicious death, police say, and an autopsy is scheduled soon for the man.
