SANDY SPRINGS GA - ON CHRISTMAS EVE A PIT BULL BROKE FREE FROM ITS COLLAR AT PETCO AND A GROOMER AND ANOTHER MAN GOT BIT TRYING TO STOP THE FIGHT

A dog owner faces charges after witnesses said a  PIT BULL  attacked a Petco employee, a customer and another dog at the Petco in Sandy Springs on Roswell Road.

"At the end of the day a lady got bit, and she got hurt on Christmas Eve, and I'm sorry," said the pit bull's owner.

According to police, a customer brought a pit bull to the store, but some point the dog managed to get away.

FOX 5 spoke with the dog's owner, who said her one-year-old pit bull "Rambo" broke free from his collar when a husky growled and lunged at him near the grooming section.
"When it came in and our dogs looked at each other, it bared its teeth and growled and then lunged at, me and my son were standing with the dogs, lunged at us," said the woman who asked to remain anonymous.
According to police, the owner now faces charges. She told FOX 5 her dog is being held by animal control for evaluation, and it could even be euthanized.
This incident has left many pet owners fearful.
“We come here all the time and we don’t feel safe now,” said the customer.
“It could have been my kids or my dog,” said Dumler.
FOX 5 News reached out to Petco for a statement but had not heard back as of Thursday evening.
The pit bull's owner hopes her message will be heard by the community, and especially those hurt in the fight.
"He didn't attack anybody. He got in an unfortunate situation, and as a puppy he didn't know what to do," she said. "So, he did the best thing he could that he knew he was protecting his owner."
Sandy Springs Police said she faces one charge from its department for letting her dog run loose. The dog owner says she will appear in court in February.

MARTINSBURG, BERKELEY COUNTY WV - A BOY SAID TO BE ABOUT 5 WAS ATTACKED BY 2 DOGS BELIEVED TO BE GERMAN SHEPHERDS THAT CAME ONTO HIS PROPERTY WHILE HE WAS PLAYING ...LIFE FLIGHT TO WASHINGTON AREA HOSPITAL

A young boy was flown Wednesday to a Washington, D.C.-area hospital after two dogs apparently attacked him while he was playing at a Hedgesville-area home, the Berkeley County Sheriff’s Department said Thursday.

A family member advised authorities Thursday that the boy, said to be about 5, is expected to be released from the hospital after being bitten on one arm and the chest area in an incident in Cherry Run Village, according to a sheriff’s department news release.
The dogs, believed to be GERMAN SHEPHERDS, were found Thursday night and taken into the custody of Berkeley County Animal Control, the agency posted on its Facebook page.
A preliminary investigation found that the dogs came onto the property where the boy was playing and attacked him, the release said.
The child initially was taken to Berkeley Medical Center in Martinsburg and then taken to the Washington-area facility.
Anyone who might have witnessed the incident or might have potential evidence, such as photographs, video or audio footage, may call Berkeley County Animal Control Supervisor Kevin Jones at 304-676-7370 or Berkeley County Deputy Capt. Willie Johnson at 304-267-7000.

UNION TOWNSHIP, CRAWFORD COUNTY PA - OWNER DON SMITH IS DEVASTATED AFTER 3 LARGE DOGS THAT RESEMBLED A PIT BULL MIXED WITH ANOTHER BREED RIPPED HIS BELOVED SHOW PONY "GONZO" TO PIECES ON CHRISTMAS EVE

Image

A family from Union Township is distraught after their show pony was viciously attacked and killed by three dogs on Christmas Eve.
Don Smith is the owner of a show pony named Gonzo. Gonzo was a performance horse who specialized in galloping. Around 12 p.m., on Dutch Hill Rd, Smith said he heard animals in the barn. Not thinking anything of it he walked into the barn, never expecting to see what he saw.
“That was a horrible horrible scene. To see a big dog 90 pounds grabbing on your pony your pet by the throat and dragging him down and trying to rip and rip and rip,” said Owner of the pony, Don Smith.
Smith tells Erie News Now he shot and killed two of the dogs with his rifle. State Police confirm that all three dogs belong to a resident who lives a few miles down the road, Dean Leroy McCray. According to the police report, McCray is facing one count of animal cruelty. State Police say McCray failed to properly secure the three dangerous dogs. The dog breeds have not been confirmed or identified, but Smith said they resembled a PIT BULL MIXED WITH ANOTHER BREED.
Don Smith is proceeding with charges but says it it is not going to bring Gonzo back.

BAY CITY MI - A FAMILY THAT OWNED 6 PIT BULLS LET THEIR 3-YEAR-OLD BOY PLAY IN THE BACKYARD WITH 4 OF THEM ...2 THAT WERE IN THE HOUSE BROKE THROUGH A STORM DOOR TO ATTACK HIM ...AND THE OTHER 4 CIRCLED!!!

A 3-year-old Bay City boy is recovering from injuries after he was mauled by 2 PIT BULL-TYPE DOGS  at his home, an attack police say ended when his mother shielded her son with her own body.
Just before 4 p.m. on Nov. 25, Bay City Public Safety and Bay County Animal Control officers responded to a dog-bite call in the 900 block of South Jefferson Street. The neighbor who had called advised there were 6 6 dogs involved and running loose in the neighborhood.
Officers found a 3-year-old boy had suffered bite wounds to his head and side. His mother rode with him in an ambulance to a Saginaw hospital, according to Bay County Animal Control Officer Olivia Shields.
Shields said four of the dogs were captured and put in a truck and two others were contained in the house.
The mother’s husband arrived home after 5 p.m.
“He ended up signing over one dog he knew for sure had been involved,” Shields said. “We took another three for quarantine at the shelter, as there were too many to do that at their house. We left two quarantined at the house until we figured out what was going to happen.”
It is standard for a dog to be quarantined for 10 days after it bites a human, Shields added.
The family had surveillance cameras on their property. A few days after the incident, they provided a flash drive containing video footage of the attack to investigators, Shields said.
The footage showed two of the six dogs were involved in the attack on the boy, who was outside in a fenced backyard at the time.
“They broke through a storm door to get to him,” Shields said. “One starts attacking him immediately and another joins in while the others circle. (The mom) literally had to pull her son out of the dogs’ mouths."
The mother ended up passing the boy to her neighbor, who took him to another house and called 911, Shields said.
The boy was subsequently hospitalized. He has since recovered, but has scars, Shields said.
“He’s lucky, that’s all I can say,” Shields said.
The six dogs are PIT BULL-WEIMARANER MIXES, with the owners claiming they are part great dane as well, Shields said.  As of Tuesday, Dec. 17, the two dogs involved in the attack have been euthanized. Of the four that did not participate, the family kept two, a relative took one, and the last one is still at Animal Control and up for adoption, Shields said.
Shields said investigators found no evidence the dogs had bitten anyone previously. She added no criminal charges are going to be filed against the owners.
Earlier this year, a pit bull named Chester attacked and killed Brandy J. Boschen-O’Dell, 41, in her residence at 3212 Westshore Drive in the Westshore Estates Mobile Home Park in Bay City. Chester was later euthanized.
Related to Boschen-O’Dell’s death, police sent their reports to the Bay County Prosecutor’s Office for review. As of Dec. 17, police have not heard back on if charges are forthcoming or not, said Bay City Public Safety Capt. Caleb Rowell.

The woman was taken to United Regional listed as stable.
Three of the pit bulls were taken by animal services, and the fourth pit bull was shot by a bystander, and is still running loose.
Officials said they have contacted the dogs’ owner.
Officials said no charges or fines will be filed at this time.
This incident is now under investigation by detectives, stay with Texoma’s Homepage as we work to learn more information.
(KFDX/KJTL)— Wichita Falls animal services said they are still looking for the fourth pit bull that may have been involved in a vicious attack on a woman Tuesday night on Juarez Street.
That dog is believed to have been shot and wounded by a person at the scene.
Wichita Falls Health District Director Lou Kreidler said animal control officers are patrolling the area for the dog. She cautions if you see a wounded or dead PIT BULL, do not approach it but call animal services immediately at 940-761-7824.
She said the other three dogs involved in the attack are in a 10-day quarantine at the shelter.
Police said witnesses reported pit bulls were dragging a woman down the 600 block of Juarez around 5:40 p.m. Tuesday. Gunshots were also reported near the scene.
Police and animal services officers located and confined three of the dogs shortly after the attack.
The woman is hospitalized with wounds to her ankles, forearm, and head.
There were reports of a man also being injured in the attack, but police say they didn’t find him at the scene or hospital.
The incident is still under investigation and Kreidler says the owner of the dogs is being cooperative.

WINDSOR ONTARIO CANADA - JOE MCPARLAND TALKS ABOUT HOW HE FELT WHEN HE LEARNED THAT THE NUTTER WHO OWNED THE PIT BULL THAT KILLED HIS BELOVED GREYHOUND "VICI" WAS THE SAME MAN WHO DIED IN AN APARTMENT FIRE

Six months ago, Windsor community member Joe McParland’s beloved pet greyhound Vici was viciously and fatally attacked by a loose pit bull on Ouellette Avenue.

Now McParland says he has learned the owner of that aggressive dog is the man who died in an apartment fire on Ouellette Avenue on Oct. 24.
“I take no solace in his passing. I’m not happy or gleeful at all,” McParland said on Friday. “He obviously caused me significant pain and injury, with the death of my dog. But I don’t ever wish harm on anyone like that.”
McParland said he received a number of calls from people who knew the man — John Scenna — confirming his death.
“I understand that he lived a very tortured life of homelessness, drug abuse, and mental illness,” McParland said. “I feel badly for who he has left behind.”

The incident that led to Vici’s death happened on April 26 on Ouellette Avenue. McParland was walking his two greyhounds — Vici and Tessie — when the  PIT BULL  ran to them from across the road, dragging its leash.
When it reached them, the pit bull immediately latched its jaws onto Vici’s neck.
McParland kicked the attacking dog and pried its mouth open, but the damage to Vici was already done.
Meanwhile, Scenna came to the scene and confronted McParland, throwing stones at McParland and threatening a fight.
McParland later learned that Scenna’s dog — named Karma — had attacked a different dog earlier the same day, and Windsor police knew about it.
Vici died at Walker Road Animal Hospital five days later.

McParland said the pit bull has remained housed at the Windsor-Essex County Humane Society since the attack. Its fate remains to be determined.
Scenna was facing an assault charge for his actions against McParland during the attack on Vici, and a charge under the Dog Owner’s Liability Act for the previous attack on April 26. Scenna was due to enter a plea on Nov. 15.
The fire happened in a first-floor unit at 1616 Ouellette Ave. on the night of Oct. 24. An investigation determined that the fire was intentionally set — but no criminal charges were warranted.
“I hope he has found the peace that he couldn’t find on Earth,” McParland said.
Meanwhile, McParland's lawsuit against the City of Windsor, Windsor police, the Humane Society, and Scenna has been settled out of court. McParland said he cannot share details about the settlement.

RIO DE JANEIRO BRAZIL - HERO !!! PATRICK DO CEU, 20, BRAVELY FOUGHT OFF A PIT BULL AS IT LATCHED ONTO A 4-YEAR-OLD BOY'S HEAD ..HE GOT HIM ON TOP OF A CAR AND WAITED HALF AN HOUR BEFORE HELP ARRIVED

A young father has been being hailed a hero after he saved a child from a vicious  PIT BULL  attack by single-handedly fighting off the animal before placing the child on top of a car.
Security cameras caught the moment Patrick do Céu, 20, bravely fought off the dog as it mauled four-year-old Joao Pedro on the ground in Parque Anchieta, Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, on December 19.

The brave man kicks the dog and manages to pull the young boy away from the aggressive animal
The horrific scenes show the animal biting at the child's arms and legs, latching onto the boy's head and dragging him around on the ground in the ferocious assault.
Both victims suffered injuries that needed stitches.
Patrick carriers the boy and places him on the top of the roof of a car before trying to fight off the dog once more

During the footage, the pitbull is seen attacking the helpless little boy before Patrick, who was thinking of his own two-year-old daughter when he stepped in to save the child, races across to try to fight it off.
When the animal turns on the father-of-one, he puts the child on the roof of a car for safety before jumping on the vehicle himself.
He then attempts to get the dog to leave them alone by stamping his foot on its head.
Following the incident, Patrick, who was left with cuts to his legs and a hand, said he and Joao were forced to wait on top of the car for half an hour before help arrived.
The dog waits on the ground as the brave man sits and waits with the young boy until help arrive
Joao Pedro needed stitches to a neck wound and the owner of the dog, which had no chip, has yet to be identified.
The child's nanny told local media the animal appeared from nowhere and turned aggressive when it saw a group of youngsters playing on scooters.
Patrick said: 'I imagined my own daughter Lara on the ground. She's only two but she's around the same size.
'When I saw what was happening I got it into my head it was her and I acted on instinct.
'When I pulled the dog off it had its teeth in the boy's neck.'
'I don't consider myself a hero, far from it.'
A fundraising appeal is already underway on the Internet to raise money for a new phone for Patrick, whose mobile fell on the floor and broke while he and the youngster were being attacked. He has been out of work for the past five months.
It is not yet clear what future awaits the animal, which is being looked after by a local vet and will be kept under observation for most of the next fortnight.

NEWCASTLE, KWA ZULA-NATAL SOUTH AFRICA - FAMILY AND FRIENDS GATHERED IN A PUBLIC PARK FOR A PICNIC AND FUN DAY WHEN "SOMEHOW" A PIT BULL GOT LOOSE AND FOUND A CHILD TO EAT ON!!!

A four-year-old underwent five hours of surgery after he was mutilated by a  PIT BULL  at Crawford Street Eco Park last week.

Doctors said Eli Stromvig is lucky to be alive, with the dog bite missing his carotid artery by just 2mm. More than 500 stitches does not guarantee the boy will keep his right ear, which was reattached after the dog tore it off during the savage attack.
Moments before he was mauled, Eli was enjoying the company of friends and family who gathered at the park for a picnic and fun day. There were 16 children between the ages of three and 14, who attended the year-end festivities.
“There were still remnants of a children’s party in progress,” said Newcastle Advertiser Editor, Reveshni Douglas, who was on the scene less than an hour after the attack. “A white table cloth swung gently in the breeze while a few multi-coloured balloons bobbed around the ground. What was missing however, was the happy sounds one would expect of a public park on a hot summer’s day, right on the cusp of the festive season. Instead, the grass around a few of the children’s park toys was drenched in blood.”
An eyewitness at the scene walked over to where Reveshni stood, taking in the horrific scene.

“Here’s the child’s ear,” he said, holding a small, bloody ear in the centre of his palm.

The ear was subsequently placed in a plastic bag by one of the first responders, Seshne Jacobs of Ressec Security, before being taken to Mediclinic Newcastle. Cheryl Wood, who was supervising the children, said she was pouring cooldrink when a child ran up to her shouting, “The dog is eating Eli! The dog is eating Eli!”

What she saw when she looked up was the stuff of nightmares. Eli was on his back trying to pummel the dog away with his tiny hands. The dog had pinned Eli to the ground, and was lunging at his head and face.

Eli’s sister, 10-year-old Isabella, said the dog bit Eli and then began ‘dragging him like a doll’. Cheryl’s son, Ronald ran to Eli and hit the dog with his fists to try and get the dog to stop. Eli’s 14-year-old cousin grabbed the dog by its hind legs, giving Ronald a split-second to lift Eli out of the dog’s reach.

“Uncle Ronald placed Eli on the castle, and the dog circled the castle a few times to try and get to Eli, then it ran and bit another child. Aunty Cheryl tried to get all the children into the Kombi where they could be safe and the dog even circled the Kombi looking for more children to bite,” said Isabella.

The owners of the pit bull were given the opportunity to tell their side of the story. Initially, they agreed to come in for a meeting. However, on the day of publication and allegedly after consultation with their legal team, the owners declined a formal interview. They described the incident as a devastating tragedy.

SUMMERVILLE SC - 2 PIT BULLS DUG UNDER A CHAIN LINK FENCE ON THEIR OWN PROPERTY ...THEN DUG UNDER THE NEIGHBOR'S FENCE AND ENTERED THEIR HOME THROUGH THE DOGGIE DOOR AND KILLED THEIR PET DOG IN THEIR HOME!!!

MORE:  https://www.live5news.com/2019/12/20/deputies-dogs-get-into-neighbors-house-kill-another-dog/?fbclid=IwAR1pzWHFJVsPsirMi-Pexx8p4qy3Y3zKJhh4YwHgv-51m6sYgukx7MPHU_Y

(WCBD) – A Summerville woman said her dog was killed after TWO PIT BULLS  broke through a doggy door and attacked the family pet.
Deputies with the Berkeley County Sheriff’s Office responded to a home around 11:00 p.m. on Thursday after receiving a call about the attack. The dogs were still in the woman’s home when deputies arrived.
They were able to remove the dogs from the home; the family pet had already been killed.
According to a police report from the sheriff’s office, deputies say the dog had dug under the chain-link fence of their own property, then dug under the victim’s fence and entered the home through the doggie door.
Deputies met with the owner of the attacking dogs and issued four citations and a mandatory court appearance. Two citations for the dogs running at large and two for public disturbance.
The report stated the owner had no knowledge of the dogs even being home. She stated the dogs had gotten out earlier that day and were looking for them throughout the evening.
On Friday, the deputy returned to the owner’s home and explained it would be in the best interest of the community, and her dogs, if she signed the dogs over to the shelter to be euthanized.
The dogs were loaded into her car and the deputy followed her to the shelter where the process would take place.

HOUSTON TX - ONE WOMAN WAS MAULED TO DEATH AND ANOTHER WAS HOSPITALIZED WITH SERIOUS INJURIES AFTER 3 PIT BULLS ATTACKED THEM

One woman was killed and another injured in what Houston police are calling a "vicious dog attack" early Saturday morning in Northside.
THREE PIT BULLS  were believed to be responsible for the attacks at around 5 a.m. in the 5500 block of Arlington Street, near the intersection of Tidwell and the North Freeway, Assistant Chief Pete Lopez told news media.
It’s unclear if both women were attacked at the same time or in separate incidents.
City ordinances require dog owners to keep their dogs contained on leashes, Lopez said. The assistant chief raised negligent manslaughter as a possible charge.
The dogs were contained in the yard of an Arlington St. house in the hours after the attack, and animal control was coming to retrieve them.
The surviving woman was taken to the hospital and will survive her wounds, which include several dog bites, Lopez said.
The medical examiner’s office arrived at the scene just after 9 a.m. to retrieve the woman’s body from a ditch on the eastern side of the road.
Across the street, a dog lay dead in another ditch that neighbors said was unrelated to the attacks — it had been there for days.
Neighbors said they were awoken by intense barking at around 3 a.m. The calls to police were reported at 5:48 and 5:55 a.m., according to Lopez.
The neighbors, who did not want to be identified, said the dogs had a history of aggression and violence. One said the animals had gotten into a neighbor’s house a couple years ago, and they had also attacked their owner.
Lopez said he had officers check for service calls in the last year and didn’t find any in that period.
It’s unknown at this time whether the two victims knew each other or were together at the time of the attacks.
The woman who survived made her way to the intersection of Cortland and Hamilton streets about a block away, where her husband called police, according to Lopez.
The animals’ owner, who was one of two people to report the attack to police, could face charges, Lopez said. Police were referring the case to the Harris County District Attorney’s Office.
