FOND DU LAC WI - A FAMILY ALLOWED THEIR 11-MONTH-OLD BABY TO CRAWL ON THE FLOOR WITH THEIR PIT MIX AND IT DECIDED TO "NANNY" HIS LITTLE FACE!

An 11-month-old Fond du Lac boy was transported to Children's Hospital in Madison this week following an attack by the family dog.

Police and an ambulance responded at about 6:30 p.m. Sunday to a residence in the 400 block of Cedar Street for a report of a dog bite. Assistant Chief Steve Klein said the infant was crawling on the floor to his father in the bathroom when the attack occurred.

The infant and the dog, described as a 6-year-old PIT BULL/LAB MIX, apparently reached the door to the bathroom at the same time. The dog then turned and bit the child in the side of the face.

The parents were able to get the dog off the child and began providing pressure to the wounds on the child’s face, Klein said.  The boy was transported by ground ambulance to the hospital.

The dog is under quarantine at the Fond du Lac Humane Society. Klein said no updates are available on the condition of the child.

ALL DOGS BITE! It's the Lab half of the pit bull mix that bit the child. Everyone knows Labs bite more than any dog in the solar system.
