BARRIE, ONTARIO CANADA - REALTOR CARRIE STILES SAYS IT LOOKED LIKE A MURDER SCENE AFTER SHE WAS ATTACKED BY A VICIOUS DOG AFTER SHOWING A HOUSE

Realtor Carrie Stiles is recovering after she says she was viciously attacked by a dog after a house showing in Barrie.“The whole thing looked like a bloodbath, she says of the incident.”

Stiles met two clients at a duplex on Innisfil Street to show them an investment property.  She says the tenant warned them about “two extremely dangerous dogs” that were in the backyard and told her that “if we were to let the dog in, he would maim and mangle us.”

After the showing, Stiles and her clients left the house and were talking in the driveway.  That’s when she says the dog escaped the house and attacked.“The metal screen door flew open. We heard a loud bang, and the dog had pushed his way through the door,” Stiles said, adding that the dog bolted straight for them.

According to Stiles, the animal bit her client’s coat and boots and then turned its aggression her way.

“The dog grabbed the corner of my jacket, latched onto that and was pulling me down to the ground to get to me,” she said.

“All I kept thinking was ‘Don’t lose your balance or this dog’s going to get your throat or your face, and that’ll be the end of me.”

Stiles says that in her desperation to get away, she tried to climb onto her client’s car. “The dog locked onto my hand. He was thrashing my hand back and forth like an alligator would,” she said.

The tenant eventually got the dog back indoors, and paramedics were called. The alleged attack left a horrifying scene.  “My purse was filled with blood; my coat was covered in blood; my nylons were torn. Because of the snow, it looked like a murder scene,” she said.

Stiles says she believes she will need plastic surgery on her injured hand  “I’m in a lot of pain. I can’t drive, I can’t write, it’s hard to get dressed, to cut food,” she said, adding that continuing her job will be difficult after her experience. “It’s terrifying to think when I door knock, is a dog going to come up to the door and how am I going to feel?” she said.

Stiles says she feels the dog should be euthanized, and the tenants arrested for negligence, saying she’s thankful her clients didn’t have children with them. But Barrie police say this is a bylaw issue. The city says it is investigating.

“Pending results of the investigation, the city may proceed with charges under the Dog Owner’s Liability Act,” a spokesperson for the city stated. “This incident occurred on the owner’s property. A dog is not required to be on a muzzle if in the owners’ home or in a fenced yard on the property.”

The city says the owner claims the dog is a CANE CORSO breed and not a PIT BULL, as Stiles claims it was. She is waiting for information from the city’s investigation and says she plans to take legal action.

JACKSONVILLE FL - A ROAMING MEAT GRINDER ATTACKED REBECCA TEMBY'S LITTLE PET OUTSIDE HER APARTMENT DOOR ...A HERO CAME TO HELP PULL THE PIT OFF HER DOG AND A FEW DAYS LATER THE LAND SHARK CAME BACK AND ATTACKED HIS DOG ...SURELY JACKSONVILLE HAS AN ANIMAL CONTROL???

A routine trip to let her dog, Mikey, outside turned into a near-deadly disaster for Jacksonville woman Rebecca Temby.
"It started tearing into Mikey and tearing his flesh," Temby said, describing last week's dog attack.
She says she was a few feet from her apartment door when a tan-colored PIT BULL  came running toward her in the parking lot of Avesta Mandarin Apartments.

"[My dog] was in shock," she told First Coast News. "I didn't know if he was breathing or not. He was just completely silent."
Temby was bitten on the shoulder, but Mikey's wounds were extensive, including bite marks around his neck and legs.

"His own body is having a hard time combating the infection," she said.

Temby, who is a veteran, was training Mikey to be a service dog. She began the training a few months ago. She says a man who helped pull the dog off Mikey was also attacked by the same pit bull a few days later.

"He came up to me with tears in his eyes and he said 'That same dog attacked my dog and now my dog is at the vet hospital,'" Temby said.
Temby didn't look to see if the dog had a collar, but believes it lives or roams nearby. She's now changing her habits and urges others to keep an eye out late at night.
"I think it would be important to let people know that this dog is out loose so they can protect themselves, their children and their own dogs," Temby said.
GoFundMe page was set up to help with Mikey's vet bills.

ST. JOHNS COUNTY FL - TAMMY DEGOLYER IS IN CRITICAL CONDITION AFTER BEING ATTACKED BY 2 ROTTWEILERS IN HER FRONT YARD...DEPUTIES HAD TO OPEN FIRE ON THE MONSTERS IN ORDER FOR FIRST RESPONDERS TO GET TO HER

A woman is in life-threatening condition after a dog attack in St. John's County on Friday. Deputies said the attack was so vicious they could not reach the woman to help her and had to open fire on the dogs.
First Coast News has learned the woman is Tammy Degolyer, who was featured Thursday in an On Your Side report.

According to the St. John's County Sheriff's Office, Degolyer was in her front yard on Luther Beck Road in Hastings around 1 p.m. when two dogs ran up, knocking her to the ground, and began attacking her.

Deputies said they were initially unable to reach her because of the dogs and were forced to open fire on the animals. One was killed and the other injured.

Deputies wanted to transport the woman to the hospital by helicopter, but weather conditions did not allow, so she was driven instead.
The St. John's County Sheriff's Office said the dogs both appeared to be ROTTWEILERS.

First Coast News had previously spoken to Degolyer and her husband, Claude Degolyer, because they had waited years for their roof to be repaired after it was damaged by Hurricane Matthew.

A local non-profit stepped in to help the military couple. The Simon's House was expecting to finish the renovation project on Monday.

PISHCHANKA, KHARKIV REGION UKRAINE - A 3-YEAR-OLD ROTTWEILER THAT HAD BEEN WITH A FAMILY ONLY 3 WEEKS BRUTALLY KILLED THEIR 4-YEAR-OLD BOY AS HE PREPARED TO GO FOR A WALK WITH HIS GRANDMOTHER

The boy died at his family home in Pishchanka in northeastern Ukraine
Reports say the boy named Denis and his grandmother Olga were about to take a walk when the dog attacked.
Denis got dressed up, walked out of the house and waited for his grandma in the courtyard.
But when the rottweiler saw him it "went mad" and jumped over the fence of its enclosure, police said.
The pet rottweiler jumped over the fence of its enclosure in the family yard

Next door neighbour Ludmila said: “The dog was chasing the boy all around the yard savagely mauling and tearing him.
“The blood was spraying in all directions. The yard turned red.”
She added: “The dog tore the child’s winter jacket and shoes off.
“Denis tried to hide behind a fence but got stuck between the bars.
“The dog immediately sank its teeth into his neck and ripped his throat out.”
His grandmother rushed outside when she heard his screams.
She was badly bitten herself trying to stop the attack and saw her grandson’s horrific death.
Grandmother Olga was not able to stop her dog killing the boy
After killing the child, the dog calmed down and ran to its enclosure, said the witness, who called emergency services.
Paramedics found the boy lifeless in the pool of his own blood.
Forensics expert Igor Bursuk told local media: “The boy’s head, neck, chest, stomach and limbs were covered with severe lacerations.
“He died from extreme blood loss.
“The grandmother, who tried to fight the dog off, received deep wounds to her arms.”
The killer rottweiler was not aggressive when cops arrived, reports said.
Mr Bursuk said: “Officers entered the yard with their guns drawn. The dog was in its enclosure and behaved peacefully.
“It was non-aggressive and obeyed their commands.”
According to reports, the three-year-old dog was brought to the house three weeks ago after Olga and her husband Mykola lost their previous pet.
Devastated family members decided to put the dog to sleep.
Neighbour Ludmila said: “A vet came the same day and gave the dog an injection.
“It was calm and sad as if it knew it was going to die.”
Police spokeswoman Olga Mashko said: “A series of forensic examinations is being conducted to establish whether the dog had diseases that could provoke such behaviour.”
Earlier this week a man in France died after he fell off a ladder in Storm Ciara and five rottweilers ate his face.
Last year a two-year-old boy was mauled to death by two rottweilers that escaped from a neighbour's garden in California.

ACQUEVILLE NORMANDY FRANCE - A MAN FELL OFF A LADDER AT HIS HOME AS STORM CIARA WAS HITTING THE COUNTRY AND HIS 'UP TO 5 ROTTWEILERS' INFLICTED GRUESOME NJURIES TO HIS FACE ...3 OF THE LANDSHARKS HAD TO BE SHOT SO FIRST RESPONDERS COULD GET TO THE MAN

The man's rottweiler dogs eat his face off after they attacked him

The incident took place in the town of Acqueville in the Calvados department of the north-western French region of Normandy.
The unnamed man fell off his ladder at around 6pm on Sunday, February, at 7 Avenue du Chateau in when the man as storm Ciara was hitting the country.
Firefighters were called to the scene by the victim's wife.
The incident took place at Avenue du Chateau in Acqueville
But when they arrived at 8:45pm, they came face to face with five "very menacing" rottweilers that stopped them from approaching the victim, according to a police source quoted in local media.
The same police spokesperson also stated that the dog's had "inflicted injuries on their master's face."
These injuries are said to have occurred a few seconds after he had fallen.
A specialist police unit was called out but they also failed to control the rottweilers, so the order was given for three of the most aggressive dogs to be shot so he could be rescued.
The two other dogs were reportedly taken inside the house by the victim's wife.
She was taken to hospital in "a state of shock" according to a neighbour quoted in local media but is otherwise unharmed.
The man was also taken to hospital but died and an autopsy is reportedly underway in order to determine the exact cause of death.

YUKON OK - HERO DAVID HARRIS BECOMES EMOTIONAL AS HE REMEMBERS THE HORRIFIC ROTTWEILER ATTACK ON A 6-YEAR-OLD GIRL AT A PLAYGROUND NEAR THE GOLF COURSE

(KFOR) – A six-year-old girl was attacked by a Rottweiler at Surrey Hills Golf Course.
“It was horrific. She was completely covered in blood,” said David Harris, who was nearby when the attack happened.
Harris was emotional as he remembered what he says was the worst day of his life.
“When we pulled up, I thought she was dead, but then I heard her scream,” Harris said.
He was at Surrey Hills Golf Course when he saw 6-year-old Della being dragged by the dog.
Her ear was completely severed and she had deep cuts in her head and down to her shoulders.
“He was tossing her around, I’m not kidding, like a rag doll,” said Harris.
News 4 talked to Della’s mom off camera. She says her daughter and her 7-year-old brother were near a playground behind the golf course when the dog jumped the fence, catching Della by her shirt and pulling her to the ground.
Her mom says if it wasn’t for Harris, her daughter might not be here.
“I just got into dad mode, I guess. I didn’t even think, I just grabbed him by the collar and pulled him off of the girl,” said Harris.
News 4 also talked to the dog’s owner, who says he’s distraught and still unsure why his dog attacked.
It's a terrible incident to happen. I don't wish this on anybody. Honestly, it was an accident. Unfortunately it turned out the way it did and I'm very sorry for the situation,” said Phillip Lavine, the dog’s owner.
Della is still in the hospital. Her mom says she is hoping she won’t have to undergo any more surgeries.
The dog is in Animal Control custody. There is no word yet on whether it will be put down.

JONESBORO AR - MADDIE SCHISLER, 6, WAS PLAYING WITH HER SISTER KYLEE, 9, IN THEIR FATHER'S YARD WHEN HIS MEAT GRINDER CRUNCHED DOWN ON HER NECK ...BIG SISTER BECAME A HERO AS SHE WENT INTO ACTION TO HELP HER YOUNGER SISTER

(KAIT) - A 6-year-old girl from Bay is back in school after being severely injured during a
dog attack, and her sister is being praised after stepping in and fighting back.
Maddie Schisler, 6, and her big sister, Kylee Schisler, 9, were at their father’s Jonesboro home on Jan. 20 when THEIR FATHER'S PIT BULL  attacked Maddie in the side yard while the sisters were outside playing.
“The dog started sniffing and nipping her coat. Then we started running then the dog just grabbed her arm and slammed her on the ground and started biting her neck," says Kylee.
The 6-year-old says she went numb while the dog was gnawing on her.
“I don’t know how he got my neck and my arm, I didn’t feel anything," Maddie says, pointing to her neck brace.
The siblings said this isn’t the first encounter they’ve had with the pet, which was staying with their father.
With everything happening so fast, Kylee said she had to think quickly to help her little sister.

“I don’t know how he got my neck and my arm, I didn’t feel anything," Maddie says, pointing to her neck brace.
THE SIBLINGS SAID THIS ISN'T THE FIRST ENCOUNTER THEY'VE HAD WITH THE PET, which was staying with their father.
Once their father came out realizing what was happening, the girls said he and his roommate pulled the dog off of Kylee and began adding pressure to the wounds that were bleeding from the attack.
Kylee then called 911 for help and moments later their father called their mother to let her know what happened.
“I really didn’t know if she was going to be okay or not and that was really really scary," says the girls’ mother, Amber Duvall.
The 6-year-old was eventually airlifted to LeBonhuer Children’s Hospital in Memphis, according to a family friend, with several injuries including a broken rib and vertebrae, nerve and muscle damages, and a blood clot.
“I tried not to cry cause if I cried, that would make her upset and I tried not to make her upset cause I couldn’t handle it," Kylee said as she would watch her sister in the hospital bed being treated by staff.
Maddie returned back to school last week after being out for a few days, and now she’s sitting at a special desk and chair made to make her comfortable. However, she’s having trouble writing with her non-dominant hand, which is caused by the nerve and muscle damage during the attack.

Duvall says her daughter will now start occupational therapy and may possibly start physical therapy down the road.
Kylee expressed how thankful she was to God for keeping her sister here on earth and how much worse it could have been.
“God was there at the right time and the right place, so I’m thankful for that," the 9-year-old said.
“Even though me and Kylee fight a lot, we still love each other," says Maddie, with a smile on her face.

Duvall said the dog was put down and warns parents to be watchful and vigilant of your children because anything can happen in a split second.

ROCHESTER NY - A WOMAN WAS STANDING ON A SMALL PORCH TALKING TO "A FRIEND WITH MEAT GRINDERS" WHEN 'THE DOGS' CAME OUT THE DOOR AND BEGAN RIPPING HER TO PIECES ...A CROWD GATHERED BUT FEW HELPED ...HEROES APPEARED AS ONE MAN USED A FIRE EXTINGUISHER ..THEN A WOMAN CAME FROM NOWHERE PICKED HER UP PUT HER IN A TRUCK AND DROVE OFF TO SAVE HER!!!

Tracey Van Houte thought she was going to die.
"I couldn't breathe. I said, 'Please help me, I'm going to die. I know they're going to kill me," she said in an interview from her hospital bed.
That might have been the outcome if not for her survival instinct, a fire extinguisher and a Good Samaritan who came out of nowhere.
The emergency call was dispatched just after 5 p.m. Tuesday: "EMS going to Thorn Street for a 20-year-old bitten by a dog."
"They grabbed my feet, pulled them out from under me and started dragging me down the driveway," recalled Van Houte. She is covered in dozens of puncture wounds, many of them requiring stitches.
Her leg and one arm were crushed between the jaws of  THE ATTACKING DOGS.
"My right arm is crushed. They scalped me in the back and literally ripped the hair off my skull...I could feel it tearing," she said.
She remembers distinctly standing on the porch on Thorn Street with her friend, who lived there along with the dogs. She says her friend opened the door and the dogs came out.
Van Houte says she climbed onto the porch railing to avoid the dogs. It didn't work.
"I was hanging on to a corner post and I was screaming to help me, get them off me," she said. "They were just ripping at me - just sinking their teeth in and trying to pull me down."
She recalls that in the crowd that gathered nearby, a few people tried to help. One man stepped in with a fire extinguisher.
13WHAM News spoke to Ernest Casserly by phone. He said he noticed the commotion.
"ONE DOG WAS AN ABSOLUTE MONSTER," he said.
He grabbed the fire extinguisher and "blasted" the dogs. The tank only had about six bursts left. He kept working to keep the dogs back then used the empty tank to hit the most aggressive of the dogs.
"I clubbed him as hard as I could in the side of the jaw, and I made contact that would have knocked any human being unconscious," he said.
Casserly suffered a bite to the hand. He said another man tried to club the dog with a rod, and was also bitten.
During the time when Casserly was able to hold the dogs back, a woman also tried to help. Van Houte said she appeared from nowhere, just as the extinguisher was on empty.
"She picked me up off the ground and she said, 'Don't worry baby I'm not going to leave you, even if they attack me,'" Van Houte said.
The Good Samaritan got her to the back of a pickup truck and they drove off. Van Houte said the dog followed and continued to try to jump into the bed of the truck.
"The fact that I got away with a ripped-up hand and a lot of stitches, I feel blessed," said Casserly. "I feel fortunate."  He said he was also relieved to know Tracey Van Houte survived the attack.
Rochester Police are investigating. They say one of the dogs was run over and suffered "life-threatening" injuries. They could not confirm whether the dog died. The second dog ran off.
Rochester Animal Services would not answer questions about the dog or their role, though a Rochester Animal Services van was at the location Wednesday morning.
Van Houte will need therapy to learn to use both arms and hands again. She says she wants to meet the woman who ran in to save her.
"She's an angel," she said. "I would be dead if it wasn't for her."

HENDERSON NV - A MEAT GRINDER CHEWED THROUGH A FENCE AND ENTERED THE NEIGHBOR'S BACKYARD GOING AFTER THEIR BELGIAN SHEPHERD AS IT TRIED TO ESCAPE THROUGH A DOGGIE DOOR ...THE UGLY BLOODY NANNY DOG GROUND ITS LEG OFF AND IT BLED OUT ...ALL ON RING CAMERA!!! I HATE PIT BULLS AND THEY ARE ALL AROUND ME ...MY DOGGIE DOOR IS BOARDED UP AND I WILL NEVER OWN ANOTHER DOG OF ANY KIND!!!

(KLAS) — A deadly dog attack occurred in Henderson over the weekend, with a Ring camera capturing the terrifying incident. Footage showed a dog getting through the neighbor’s fence and repeatedly attacking another dog in his own backyard.

8 News Now spoke with the owners of the dog that was killed.

“I didn’t expect anything like this to happen,” said Mary Karle, Nikolai’s owner.

Karle said her Belgian Shepherd was chased and attacked by her next-door neighbor’s dog in her backyard. The Ring camera recorded both dogs appearing to go at each other, until Nikolai attempted to use a doggie door to escape.
The other dog bit his hind leg and didn’t let go.
“The only thing on it, according to the vet, was his bone and his tendon, but the pad of his foot, they said, had been chewed off along with all of his skin and tissue,” revealed Karle.
Karle said the wooden fence between both properties is about 25-years-old. Her husband started reinforcing it last year with plywood but never finished it.
“We can tell where the wood was chewed up,” Karle showed us on the fence.
She said she was at work during the ordeal. She didn’t check the notifications from Ring, assuming her dogs were playing in the backyard. She came home hours later and found Nikolai.
“All I saw was blood … he had been bleeding out all day.”
Henderson Animal Care and Control left a complaint notice on the neighbor’s door and are investigating.
Karle’s message after all of this is if you have a dog, check your backyard and make sure fences and gates are secure.
We also checked the Henderson municipal code, which does acknowledge dangerous animals. If a dog is declared dangerous, an animal control officer can impound the dog.
Henderson Police did not say whether the dog is in Animal Control’s care tonight.
